Put down your headset or there will be... trouble.

Don't know why you're getting cold votes. The reviews say it's better quality than the vive and oculus. It's cheaper too. Plus this price is the cheapest it's been.

I'd be tempted however I had a vive and sold it only a few months ago due to lack of use.Have some heat for the deal though.

Nowhere near the quality of Oculus (or Vive). The Hp is cheap plastic, fits poorly and lets light in everywhere.

They are all getting a $100 price drop for black friday in the US, wouldn't be surprised if the same happens here. Still wouldn't buy one though.

I have one of these and don't have any light leakage issues - but maybe my head is an odd shape?

If you haven't tried a Mixed Reality headset yet then you owe it to yourself - they are amazing and the resolution / definition is just way better than the Vive or Rift.

I wish! The USA are getting $100 off selected MR headsets when bought in conjunction with a related device (Laptop or PC)

The $100 dollar bundles are available now, pretty sure the headsets themselves are dropping for BF microsoft.com/en-…als

Ok I will wait for the £100 off then in that case. I only want it for project cars 2 and asseto corsa.

On paper WMR should be considerably better than the Rift, the reality is the image quality on the Rift is far superior.

I'd agree people should try before they buy. Luckily i ordered direct from HP and they collected free of charge and refunded very quickly.

Didn’t like the rift myself. Demos were cool, but AAA games were too low red for me. Loved playing Project Cars especially, but couldn’t get over the fat pixels.
I’ll wait for gen 2. Or the promising PiMax 8k (8k being in inverted commas before anyone comments).

mind if I zip this up

In my experience (I have had quite a bit) Mixed Reality Headsets are superior to the current/last gen Rift and Vive but that is a good thing! I want the Rift2 and Vive 2 to leapfrog the current gen of Mixed Reality headsets - that way we all win!

Thank you for your cooperation, goodnight!

I've heard that you have increased POV on these units, can anyone confirm ?

Oh Sorry, can't really comment on that but personally as good as the MR headsets are there is still a way to go res wise and refresh wise across the board before I would get too worried about that.

Oh lordy, I hadn't heard of this before. kickstarter.com/pro…set
200 degrees? 4K for each eye? Sounds class. I wonder what the standard price will be though.

I had the Pimax 4k headset for a while but it left me a little unimpressed. Lets hope the, ahem, "8k" model is better shall we?

OK, these are only my own opinions based on owning the HP headset then the Rift -
-the rift has richer deeper colours
-field of view is noticeably larger on the Rift
-the image on the rift is sharper as the headset doesn't move about when your wearing it
-although the sde on the MR is finer it's also more obvious for some reason
-WMR headsets get really hot and you feel it on your eyes
-the build quality on the Rift headset and controllers is in a different league to WMR

Most of the preview reports are pretty impressed, but it’s still an early preview so seems to have issues to resolve (and the preview version doing the rounds seems a bit broken now).
They are also doing a 5k cheaper versions and I hear an 8kX which will be even higher res.
Time will tell.
The current “4K” version received fairly decent reviews (if a bit mixed) when it came out, but it was priced much lower than the vive or oculus at the time, before their price drops.
