Cashback does eventually come through, no problems. Got mine within 2 months.

It's a specific model that gets the cashback.

It's actually a very clever bit of marketing.

Build machine for e.g. £60, sell for £190 to reseller, offer £100 cashback.

Make £30 on a machine, but hold on to the £100 for 2-3months, if you can perpetuate the process and are selling 5000 machines/month, that's a £500,000 loan for mostly free!

Fair point however I really don't think that a Company that had $127.2 billion revenue sales in 2011 bothers to try and get that size of loan for free, also you have to considered the cost HP have to pay the company that administer the cash-back, it doesn't do it for free
Does it have a PCI-e slot to add a wireless network card?
On the form:

serversplus.com/pdf…pdf

It states Company name (for cheque to be payable) and company address. Is it okay to just my own name and address as an individual or is this offer only open to companies?

Picked mine up from their Huddersfield Showroom this afternoon. Looking forward to setting it up over the weekend.
Slightly cheaper at Ebuyer - £229 and 3% Quidco Cashback + £100 cashback from HP. Haven't voted as I don't know how much it was on Ebuyer when this was posted.
Kebabthief...you beat me to it! I've just noticed ebuyer is now cheaper too....It was 240 something before...
AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

After all that searching I placed an order with serversdirect with a 2.22 quid credit card surcharge to save 3 quid from Ebuyers price, I ended up paying more. I placed the order last weekend.
It will be delivered today :-) looking forward to it.

Hehe. I thought that would have been the case, hence not voting. I ordered one and it arrived this morning. I haven't set it up yet as I'm just wading through the jungle of know how about how to set it up.

I think I'm going to go down the WHS2011 route, as I've no linux experience.

I'm going to be adding 2x 2TB hard drives in addition to the 250Gb that it comes with. Is it best to install the OS and software on the 250Gb and have the 2x2TB in a raid (through FlexRaid) for storage, or should I add the 250Gb to the raid too?

It's quite a minefield, lol.

What I found best in my N36L was to buy this:-

amazon.co.uk/gp/…9W/

Which allows you to place the 250GB drive into the optical bay and have 4x HDD racks for further storage. Seems more logical than an actual optical media drive which is on the way out. If you're going for 2x2TB now, you can add another 2x2TB in future. I added 4x2TB in one go and created them as one 8TB large volume. More space, easier to manager but risk no redundancy. Solid so far though, do a SMART check every so often to catch any possible drive failures.

The Startech tray fits perfectly, works perfectly as boot drive. I installed Win7 on mine with a HD5450 low profile fanless graphics card and Hauppage WinTV tuner for freeview playback and record. Perfect 1080p HTPC media center!

No worries, it's a nice tidy device:-

14033740-weKro

Also, forgot to mention, you will need some extra cables if you don't have them already to convert power and connect to motherboard:-

amazon.co.uk/gp/…PG/

Only 98p. Installation is simple. If you get any issues, switch BIOS AHCI & boot order. Any probs or questions, happy to help.

I'll have a look through by cable barrel. I'll probably have one of those. Is the motherboard connector a molex and the caddy needs a SATA power connector?
While I'm waiting for the rack to arrive, can I set it up with the 250Gb in bay 1 and the 2TBs in bays 3 and 4, then move the 250Gb to the rack when it comes and change the boot order in the bios? or would that screw things up?

You can certainly setup the 250GB in Bay 1 then relocate it to the rack via SATA on motherboard. I did that. However, I didn't add any further drives as I wanted a single large volume formatted.
Thanks. That's what I'll do then.

I was just going to do the 2x 2TB and then use FlexRaid so that I can easily add two more later and it would still appear to be one volume.
Hello.. Has anyone got an official confirmation that the cashback will be extended to Apr?

Thanks
Spoke to someone at the company managing the cashback campaign, he said he was 99% sure it'd be extended, they're just a little bit behind getting the information out.
