My subscription has just expired and i cancelled it a few days before the expiry date. Obviously I didnt expect to get anymore ink cartridges from HP due to subscription cancellation. but HP has detected that the existing ink that is already in the printer is from the trial period and cannot be used unless i enrol again(subscribe again).. i thought i could finish the existing ink and switch to buying my own from ebay..as i wasn't aware, just had to print something urgent, and without knowing HP's stingyness and not having ordered my own ink elsewhere,Printer wont print. Wish i'd known this,i wouldve bought ink before the subscription expiry. So folks,if u cancel ur subscription when its about to expire, make sure u order ur own ink, dont think that u can finish the last ink they send u. *runs to library for prints*

I bought the officejet 8610 (a deal on hukd).... Noticed on HP support site there are the driver files etc + a patch file to allow the use of 3rd party cartridges. Maybe worth a look
