Yes and yes! Unless you're trying to scan a document larger than A4

Thanks Robert, so there a flap that I can lift up and place the passport face down and scan right?

Yes, you can easily scan items smaller than the A4

There's a flatbed scanner, you just lift up the top panel 🏻

I've got one of these, paid a little more on the Currys deal with five months free ink. I was sceptical about the free ink but HP are absolutely brilliant. When you do the sign up on line so they can monitor your ink levels they automatically send out within the first week or so a set of inks as they don't want you to run out. Can't fault them. Voted scorching hot.

Thanks OP, have reserved. No auto duplex, but can't complain at this price!

Love my HP instant ink. If you use a referral code you can get 1 extra month of free ink

Just picked up a HP DeskJet 3630 from Tesco at £24. Now gotta return it and buy this!
Annoying!

Does this have a feed tray for scanning multiple docs or have to lift lid and do one at a time

Can you get cheap third party ink for this? I've had a quick scan (hoho!) and even the compatible ones seem to be really dear..

I just reserved one, looking to upgrade from my 3 year old 2540, the 301 cartridges for that were about £10 each are the ones for this more expensive?

I bought a box of 20 for my Epson SX235W for about £17. The capacity is smaller though. I think but it's lasted almost 2 years..

you can select even the 300 page tier during trial and then later adjust according to your needs.

Amazon or eBay. I think they were from eBay, it was a box of loads. Something like this: ebay.co.uk/itm…oh0Just comes in a brown box, which lives in the printer cupboard. So far I've had 2 duds out of the 15 I've used, and one of them worked after a while of removing and replacing. The printer just thinks' they're genuine Epson ones.

On the free trial you get 300 pages a month but will need to change it before the trial ends.

Hope that helps

This also comes with free instant ink, it's only 15pages a month but if you don't print that often you'd never need to buy ink again. I found a few codes online so have 5months free ink 3+1+1. Can fault it so far. Just make sure you pick a paid instant ink subscription on set up to qualify for the the free months. Then once it's up go back to the 15ppm level.

I saw this yesterday on their ebay site and went and got one, lovely printer, scanning via wifi is really easy and simple.
But then today I saw the 4658 on sale at PCW for 34.95, I think its a faster model and they both take the same ink type, on ebay, genuine ones in pairs is around 18-19 so is not too bad as I really just buying it for the scanner.

Voted hot - thanks for posting

Sorry guys but how does the 3 months free trial work and how do I get the 2 extra months for free?

And a FAX!!! used one once in 1979 glad to see they are still popular

The 4658 is £39.99 with 5 months free trial. this represents better value at my level of usage and for a slightly faster machine. Either deal represents great value though

Just ordered one and voted hot as my old HP Deskjet 3050 has seen better days. Will use with Win10 desktop and hope it will also work with Win7 as my desktop has dual-boot facility.

Just a Heads up, if you cancel the HP instant ink subscription any ink you have left in the cartridges cant be used as they remotely disable them. So you will need to by new ones (302 ink). Apart from that the printer is great.

Hp instant ink £8 For 300 pages ...

Or if you are a light user, like myself, this printer offers you 15 pages for free every month.
You'll have to do this during set up.

Great deal, thanks OP. Picked mine up today and very impressed with the whole setup. Easy to sort and the 'instant ink' free trial will be a good way of assessing how much I'll make use of it.

So do you get 15 pages free ink a month for life? Or just for the 3 month trial? Seems to be some people saying one thing and Simone saying another?

Thanks OP, just bought for £10 with my £20 off ebay voucher!

If you sign up to 300 pages per month in free trial and only use 10-15 in the month. And drop down after the free trial. Does your other pages roll over?

I'd still argue that its cheaper to try finding a printer with ridiculously cheap compatible ink.
My HP Photosmart 5520 (2014 model) is still going strong and the ink costs 64p/cartridge if you buy enough on eBay.
