Pc world is owned by Currys you'll prob find most stores are now Currys pc world stores

Its costs £ 49 at Currys, not £ 49.99

Regarding instant ink it says 50 pages per month for £1.99, I've read that anything from a draft A4 to a 6 x 4 counts as 1 page. I'm curious to know if anyone uses this program and whether or not you could print 50 full colour A4 borderless or is it subject to a percentage of page yield.

Service is based on pages u prnt not amt of ink used. ..quote
Nice but wouldnt touch inkjet again.

Yes you could print 50x A4 borderless photos...same price. £1.99 per month.

Ye read the quotes but don't see how you could get 50 A4 prints with reviewers saying the colour cart ran out between 30-35.

Just read elsewhere that these are supposedly the XL carts so that may give you 50 pages

You can upgrade the packages

50 pages - £1.99
100 pages -£3.49
300 pages -£7.99

The instant ink scheme may be worth it for some, but I found that HP inks were expensive and didn't last long, or dried up easily if a while between uses (compared to my previous Canon inkjet - and hence I now have a laser printer. It may not be better but it has a frickin' laser!).

Yes I know there are compatibles, but these can be hit and miss quality wise and don't display ink levels.

Good price, though, OP.

Can I ask does Do I start instant ink straight away....or can I leave it until the ones supplied are nearly empty?

You can register for the instant ink any time but the service only starts when you insert the instant ink cartridges in the printer. I went for the scheme because I didn't want to waste ink printing unnecessary stuff, but that meant that my ink would dry out all the time. This way I print 50 pages a month, don't worry about cartridges as they just send them when your current ones get low, and if it's flexible, so if I don't use all 50 pages one month they will carry over. Seems like a good idea for £24 per year.

Because as soon as your Carts begin to get low the printer notifies HP and they send new ones out...(so you may have a couple of days waiting for the new carts to arrive before you print the last 10-15 pages...)

Picked one up this afternoon and get a message "The indicated cartridges are not intended for use with this printer". after sticking in the bundled cartridges. Tried taking power out and reseating cartridges...

Anyone any bright ideas?

Internet is full of people having problems like me. If you come across this, I would avoid as its a POS

Something fishy here with this model, if you're not bothered about the fax function or loader on top have a look at the 4500 at JL or the 4502 at Argos, both are the same printer and both are £49.99.....downside is no 2 months free ink

It could be the cartridges, but don't want to risk it being the printer. If I take 1 cartridge out (either one) it then works...

Going to try the Envy 4507 from Currys for same price..Paid for the 3 year unlimited replacements from them for £12..

At this rate I could over a 1000 printers out of the plan, and never print a single sheet!

Better deal again with the 100 page plan + free paper, hope it's not a Currys curse you've picked up. Good Luck.

Just a thought - it says that the instant ink carts are included in the box, is this really the case? If so you'll need to have the printer registered for the instant ink service before they will work. The printer knows the difference between the instant ink and normal cartridges.

Picked up the Envy 507 and its working straight away. This is using the instant prints as well.

Got the Envy 4507 running (same as 4500) and I am far more impressed than I was with the 4630. Its lacks the fax and the scanner feeder. However its much more compact, quieter and doesn't shake while printing.

NO USB lead with the 4507, but does come with 25 sheets of 10 x 15cm advanced HP photo paper.

How does the instant ink work for that ? Is it 2 months at 50 ppm or just one 100 page bundle, Currys site wasn't that clear.
Third time lucky getting something that works
