This is awesome. Thanks OP
Is the ink expensive?
Amazon reviews, say printer is not great, loads of bad reviews. Even thou its a good deal. Cartridges as well not cheap.
For a new comer to the uk, not familiar with cash back and all, does it mean you pay 99£ up front and then get 70£ cash back = 29£ total?

Yep
You can also buy from Amazon which is an authorized reseller and get faster delivery.

I've heard chocolate fireguards refer to things as being as useful as a HP printer.

Yes, unless it is compatible, the page yield on this one is half of the page wide versions ((roughly))

Welcome to the UK & welcome to HUKD's in the UK ((not many uk companies left now!))

With the HP cashback, you buy the printer ((must come from a HP approved cashback reseller or HP)) you then upload your receipt and they then pay the £70 ((this printer deal cashback offer amount)) into your designated bank account by fasterpay transfer

So yes, this will cost you £29 in total AFTER you get the £70 back, the initial purchase price is very good for this one, as it is normally around the £109-124 mark.

I have posted a slightly dearer, but much newer printer deal here for the HP 7740 OfficeJet Pro model, again inspired by this one, you get £70 cashback on it.

In box :

HP 932 Black Officejet Ink Cartridge (~400 pages)
HP 933 Cyan Officejet Ink Cartridge
HP 933 Magenta Officejet Ink Cartridge
HP 933 Yellow Officejet Ink Cartridge: composite yield (~330 pages)

Then when ink finished, throw away, buy again..repeat.Landfill madness.

Not voting. Looks like a decent price but I consider inkjet printers to be a scam nowadays. Laser all the way.

Lasers are very good - BUT you cannot print on normal inkjet photo paper (it needs to be a special - and expensive - laser photo paper)
Obviously this does not apply to plain paper - you can print photos just fine on that with either inkjet or laser printers, but the paper will make the photo look dull and blurry (because plain paper is designed for documents)

If you want an inkjet, i'd go with Canon as ive had very good experience with them. My grandparents are still using my old Pixma ip6700d which must be 12 years old by now and it still prints spot on and rarely clogs. It has outlasted 2 printers that replaced it. The carts are also cheaper if you go for a higher end printer (research on ebay before you buy the printer).

But, Avoid Epson printers whatever you do. I used to be an Epson die hard fan and wouldnt dream of switching. After having 3 epson printers that drank ink like it was water, constant cleaning cycles and blocked nozxzles. Enough was enough, and i switched to Canon. Epson literally print 3-4 pages then do another cleaning cycle. Every time the printer was switched on - cleaning cycle.

FYI - I happen to own this very printer listed on here, it replaced a Canon MG6450 that fell onto the floor and broke.
I much prefer my Canon printer and will go back to Canon if this HP one dies.

Check T&C it says if you buy direct from HP or its authroized reseller it will work. If Amazon is not authorized reseller than I don't know who is.
I have returned two of these printers due to a yet-to-be-resolved firmware fault.

Leave the printer to sleep for a day and you cannot print without power-cycling it. It just will not awaken from energy saving mode.

See my thread here:

h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/…rue
Additionally, be aware that this printer is huge and comes in a massive box, which you'll want to keep in the garage for when/if you have to return it.
got the and other bit and bog for 97 after cashback 27 33129074-EpTgr.jpg
The compatible cartridges on ebay looks really cheap. Haven't tried it though,
Extend your warranty to 3 years here:

[UPDATE: alas, this promo is not valid --> ONLY applies to purchases outside the UK,
they probably want us to buy three printers instead haha]

lol bought from viking needs too spend £100 and get £20 off
An FYI for the people who bought this printer from Amazon using the £10 voucher --> Amazon is an approved retailer, called HP on 020 3 027 7423 and was confirmed by a friendly lady.
This is enormous and i mean really enormous
Just applied for the £70 cashback will let you know how it goes.
Would have been awesome.
My wife ordered from HP last Wednesday and have not heard a dicky-bird from them after trying to contact them several times. Apparently they're "processing payment" which is what the status has been since ordering. It's as if they know there's a really good code going around and if they hold orders off for a bit they won't need to pay up..............

She even found it difficult cancelling the order. Now ordered from Amazon. Hopefully it'll arrive in time for the code to be put in.

Thanks just received my £70 from Techprotect

PS i purchased from amazon (because they had a £10 discount on the day for prime)
Edited by: "allowed" 17th Feb
I got my 70 today.
However, when I was checking the claim status I noticed:
Transaction Value (initial) GBP 70.00
Transaction Value (adjusted) GBP 58.33
so, I was worried a bit, but eventually I got 70, so all well that ends well.
