Fantastic offer on a high spec printer, scanner, fax and copier from HP.

The headline price alone is a good 20-50% lower than most other retailers (£50 off Curry's regular price) but with a year of 'up to 300 pages per month' of free Instant Ink included (possibly 14 months using sign up code FREEINK and a friend referral code - easy to find) this becomes a bit of a killer deal, worth it for the ink alone!

The machine itself is chunky but quite high spec, solid and fast apparently.

Which? rates it for its 'superb' photo print quality but warns about ink usage which, given the '14 months of ink' offer, doesn't worry me!

It prints 20 pages per minute, prints double sided and is controlled via a 2.6" touch screen.

Well worth considering if you are going to need a new household printer in the next few months - particularly if you current one is costing you plenty on replacement inks.

** UPDATE **

  • up to 15 months free ink at up to 300 pages per month
  • up to 26 months free ink at up to 100 pages per month

Confirmed working this weekend (23rd Sept)

Yes good deal for ink free printin
It's sooooo hot.
Is there a voucher for 12 months? How does it work?
Edited by: "dyczko" 17th Sep 2017
its probably based on average usage, thats the model most companies use when they offer a free consumerable supply of a product
  • Up to 1 year's HP Instant Ink (based on a 300-page plan)
Any voucher codes about to make it even cheaper?
Is the instant ink linked to this printer?
just bought two printers from ebuyer that are instant ink compatible, could I use the instant ink code from this?
What about if you buy it then after 12 months or whenever the warranty expires, you return it?
FREEINK discount code doesn't work
Does anybody know if the instant ink is valid outside uk
Are the friend referral codes reusable? Also, would I still have ink delivered if I don't use the printer? Thanks in advance.

Just read the description, it does offer instant ink but you will need to sign up for it
The code isn't working
So any clarity on what the "up to 300 pages per month" actually means? is that 300 pages per month for a whole 12 months? i dont understand the "up to" bit
With instant ink, HP monitors the number of pages you print. When your ink starts to get low they automatically post out new cartridges to you ready to replace the ones that are running out. They have various subscription tiers (I think 50 pages, 100 pages or 300 pages per month).

This offer, as I understand it, means you can print up to 300 pages each month before you incur any additional charges for ink. From what I can tell this is their 'top tier' subscription. I think you can carry over unused 'pages' for 1 month but not longer. The offer makes the 'subscription' free of charge until the 12-14 months is up then you can drop it (and buy ink as usual) or can pick a tier and continue.

When you sign up for instant ink you can use a signup code plus a refer a friend code that gives you and your friend an extra month free. They are reusable but for some reason the moderators on here are touchy about people posting a code. So pm me. You will get ink delivered when you signup but it will be no use to you or anyone else if you don't use the printer.

You sign up to one of 3 monthly ink subscriptions. Each having a cap of the number of pages you can print for each month.

Aaah so you dont get the 1 year if you choose the 300 page option. You only get 1 yr if you chose the lower print plan (50 page/pm) this is what im trying to get my head around. Its not clear in the post it suggests you get 12 months of the 300 page plan?
The description of the item on Curry's website clearly states:

  • Up to 1 year's HP Instant Ink (based on a 300-page plan)

So unless the item description is incorrect, the free period should provide the top tier.
Saw this in store earlier today. Couldn't work out what the free deal actually was, and the Currys 'expert' was utterly clueless! Walked away from it! Still after a printer but getting sick of looking at them!

everywhere im reading suggests if you go for the 300 page option you only get 3 months
Remember to use a referral code for an extra month love my HP instant ink 😁😁

Just picked one up from currys. It's a extension to the 3 months normally given. The front of the box has 3 months on but they have stickers on the top saying 3 months + 72 which works out to the full 300 a month subscription. Great deal only one left in the store.
What I'm confused with now is that if it comes with £72 credit can I choose the 3.49 option and extend for longer as im no way printing 300 a month.
Is it high spec though? I bought the Envy (admittedly from the cheaper end) and the whilst printing is ok the scan quality can't touch that of my 5 year old Canon MP560.
It will work even better for me too if you can extend the subscription for more than a year by putting the £72 voucher towards the 100-page £3.49 pm plan but I'm not banking on it.

Hopefully someone who has picked one up today can confirm whether this is a possible option when signing up.

I have ordered one but it is not due to arrive for a few more days yet...

Just set it up. Selected the 100 page a month and it says up to 300 in first 3 months will be waived. £72 credit added. Also used a refer a friend for 1 extra month. And promo code 2MONTHSDJUK for a further 2 months free. Won't be paying for printing for years.

I bought this exact printer for £50 from Office outlet and that too with three months free ink.
Where was the £72 code? Just unpacked mine and can't find it anywhere! @Sumal86

There was a glossy card that came with it. Right at the top of the box that has a code on it. About A5 sized. Did your box have the same sticker mine did on the top?

Yep, got the sticker, but I've been through the box several times and there's no card. I wonder what the likelyhood is of Currys opening another one and giving me the card if I got back to store. I've got this one set up with the cartridges installed, so it would seem stupid to have to take it back and swap it.

Took a picture of it for you. Was with the manuals.
Thanks. Definitely missing 😔
Is this one a better value than hotukdeals.com/dea…863 ? I bought 8710 already but haven't opened yet. So was wondering if I should return to ebuyer and get this one instead? With so many printer I am confused which one has the best value
This one is slower, costs more to purchase but comes with more free ink.
In theory instant ink should cost the same per page irrespective of which printer you get.
So it depends on what you need, how much cash you want to spend and how big or well specified a printer you need.
If you have the 8710 stick with it, use the instant ink trial and catch as many referrals as you can then refill the cartridges would be my recommendation.
Just got one from the store... Seems good. Doc feeder much better than previous ones I've had...
Picked mine up today. Excellent deal. The free trial with codes takes me upto February and then I start using the £72 prepaid key... On the mid range ink package this will past ages.

Great pic quality too!
Can this Scan and print without the Pc being switched on? also noticed the print resolution is quite low, what are photo qualities like?
Would appreciate any comments
