Hi all

I was hoping to get a decent printer today and this is the best I could find given it should only cost me £19.98 when the cashback comes in. No free ink trial, but the included ink supposedly lasts 625 pages for colour and 1000 for black. Also has a proper Ethernet port on it by the looks of it (which I prefer to WiFi). Must be bought by the 30th of November to qualify for cashback, find claiming details on the ebuyer website as I cannot paste the URL here as it goes to the French HP site and it gets shortened too so cannot be copied and pasted!.

Great find. Have some heat

Great if you don't mind doing the Cash back claim.
Hopefully one day they will just give you the post cash back price upfront.
Like the OP I'm keeping a eye out for a printer.
+1 for overall price after cash back.

How am I supposed to claim cash back from a French site? Something fishy here

Weird, it must be getting diverted somehow. I will try again or if it doesnt work go to the deal, and click more info where it mentions cashback.

The french webiste thing is to do with HUKD link referrals I think, it doesnt go to the site I try and set the link to. Just look on the deal page, which links to the correct place on the HP site.

Here is the cashback link:

h41201.www4.hp.com/WMC…ts/

Search 7720 in the box to find it, and to claim it you need to enter the serial number and other information, the serial number is on a label on the printer.

I know you will have pasted the correct URL, but it goes to the french HP site! I think its to do with how links are referred on here or something

Great price and very tempted to purchase this printer, but set of cartridges costing £60 puts me off a little.....maybe cheaper just to buy two printers and keep the second set of cartridges....

Depends on if they are "installation" cartridges or not. I know an Epson at work will only take one lot of installation cartridges and will reject any others. I suppose you would have a second printer anyway!

They do a lot of prints which is why they are dear.

I have unexpired it.

Cheers!

Also FYI I ordered two of these (as there is more than £20 in ink with the printer) and I have submitted my cashback claim and the 3yr warranty claims. Fairly simple process (so far).

This is a very sad reflection on the state of the printing industry. Buy printer, keep ink, flog printer on eBay!

Cashback approved and being processed within 48 hours of applying for it......top marks for HP

Thanks again OP

Can't sell the printer as the cartridges are installation cartridges so you need to use both printers.

Be wary of the firmware updates to these printers that may block 3rd party cartridges.

I will not replace my 10 year old printer for that exact reason.

After users kicked up a fuss they rolled this back. It still gives you a warning but it will accept 3rd party cartridges.

There is cashback, read about it on the ebuyer site.

It also explains in the post about how I cannot directly link the cashback details. What else can I do?

At least read the stuff before downvoting and encouraging others to do so with no justification whatsoever.

No cashback on the 1st of December!

HP cashback deal is run by shysters, they will do everything possible to reject claims, its their jobsworth. In 3 years I have done 2 claims, the first was rejected the second, I they almost rejected by cancelling their own courier, after 20 emails, several telephone calls and hassle with me constantly stating I am recording everything, they caved in and gave the cashback - not an easy job.

Not disputing what you say but surely a cashback offer (opposed to a trade in) is a lot more difficult for them to reject?

The one I did a few years ago for a HP laptop was cashback, it was not stated why it was rejected but there was a thread on this forum about several of us having similar problems, for some it was date, for some it was laptop batch number, others retailer and need to submit invoice and not receipt (go figure), for some it was finding out it was a very specific configuration and any changes invalidates the offer so the offer despite being advertised for that laptop series was only for a specific configuration. I did read the site before ordering and got everything right, they just refused to communicate and when they did after several complaints they kept saying they have lost communications/receipts, etc.

My recent claim for £100 trade-in was successful with a lot of effort, my previous claim for cashback was not despite effort (but not as much) - however it is the same department

This/It is a good deal, my post is to highlight it may not be easy, HP are not an easy company to deal with like shopto/very. As long as you are aware and still want it, go for it.

The printer despite its annoyances I am happy with overall. In terms of ink cost, yes it is cheaper to buy printer packages for the ink despite starter inks, then sell the printer rather than purchase the ink. HP are doing instant ink and if you don't mind them holding onto your credit details over several storage areas, it is slightly cheaper depending on your printing needs.

I can see why they are awkward (given it's basically giving money away) but let's hope they are reasonable with it. I filed my claim on Sunday and have yet to hear anything.

Nope not yet it still says validation in progress on the website and I don't have an email other than the one that I got when I first submitted. Anyway if it looks like they are starting to pay up then it should be OK.
