Hmm. We've been considering something like this (probably a laser though) for home office use, but the reviews are less than complementary about this unit's speed, which in real use is a fraction of the quoted figures (how do they get away with that?). In particular, duplex b&w printing is only 3.3 pages per minute. Single sided still only 13ppm.

Noisy too. and huge.

Reports suggest no Ethernet connection either, only usb and wifi.

Low cost printing though, if speed isn't a problem, plus the photo printing is decent esp if compared to a laser.

Alternatives anyone?

Not at this price, cheaper ones tend to be more expensive to use. The 3 year warranty is something to keep in mind too.

oh yes, no doubting that this is a bargain at the price. My budget does stretch a bit more. Should have said.

Re. Ethernet
RegHardware review
"There's another USB port at the back, but no Ethernet. This is slightly strange, as the machine does include Wi-Fi networking, which can be set up easily from the machine’s 88mm touchscreen"

IT Pro review
"At the back is a socket for USB 2.0, though oddly no cabled network socket. The machine does support wireless networking, to 802.11g, with an easy two-stage set up."

Trusted Reviews
"Connection between printer and PC can be made by USB connection or by Wi-Fi link, though oddly there's no cabled network socket."

There are 2 versions...
- CB022A with USB & Ethernet, but no touch screen
- CB023A which has USB, Ethernet, Wireless, a touchscreen, more fax memory and the Digital Sender function (commonly used by solicitors and estate agents to quickly archive documents)

Right! That explains it.

I read the reviews from your links.
