HP Officejet Pro 8600A Wireless e-All-in-One Printer & Fax Machine - John Lewis at £99.95.

Good deal for those looking for a decent printer, with long lasting inks. Ideal for a Small office or home office.

I have the 8600Plus version, which has served me well - fast scanning, scan to Network folder, fast printing in draft mode (which looks decent for black text), and 250 sheet paper capacity.
The 8600 Plus simply adds a better screen and the ability to do 2side copy to 2side print using the top feeder ADF, but its more expensive -This version is the 8600 (non-plus). Most features are similar. Ive ordered this and picked it up from my local John Lewis.

Elsewhere, the printer costs £129.99 at Pc World, £149 at amazon and £129 at Argos.

Added advantage of John lewis 2 yr guarantee and impeccable service.

I think HP are also offering a chance to register for free 3 year warranty extension, for products purchased until end of April? Link: h41201.www4.hp.com/WMC…ls/

hopes this helps someone.

Also wanted to add, that I use the original 950XL inks (I dont want to risk compatibles), as it works out cheaper. My small office has so far printed 15000 pages on the 8600Plus version, without any issues, in the past 7 months. Approximately £23 for the black 950XL, which if printing text documents (set it on Draft quality - which doesn't look bad at all btw!), will last for ages!

Advantage of HP over Epson, is that the printer heads are built into the cartridge (i think?) so requires less cleaning. My previous Epson was forever cleaning and requiring de-clogging, as the heads are built into the printer (hence cheaper compatibles / cartridges for the Epson?).

I have also set up to receive faxes to save into a folder, instead of printing (to avoid spam). And it has a duplexer (print on 2 sides) built in.

These are currently 59.99 in Costco Picked up one yesterday

Picked one at costco as well as posted here on UKHotdeals and happy with it so far.

I have the HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-in-One Printer (Last years model). It has separate print heads so this will probably be the same.

While it works it’s a great printer, however when I replaced inks, I had so many problems:
1 – Printer will not work (not print/scan/fax) if any of the inks are empty.
2 – Bought full set of HP original Inks – Replacing them as needed. When replacing the coloured inks, printer reported Print head needed replacing after initialising itself for about 20 minutes (can’t abort). This also resulted in ink level going down. Removed and replaced ink cartridges and Print Head several times (10+ over several days) - Each time taking about 20 mins and wasting ink!. Finally, Print Head issue resolved itself. All ink cartridges now less than half from full.
New issue now reported – Head Alignment issue. Again wasting 20 minutes to re-initialise and self-test wasting more ink. Again, removed and replaced ink cartridges and Print Head several times. Now no coloured ink left. Black still half full. Printer won’t print or scan - asking the empty inks to be replaced first.

So be aware.

Also, if you are intending on buying, Costco has it for £60.
