HP Omen 15 - 9th Gen i7 and 1660ti. I7-9750H 8GB 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD 15.6 Inch 144 Hz GeForce GTX 1660Ti 6GB Windows 10 Home Gaming Laptop

This honestly seems like the best bang for buck for the around a grand laptop atm. I've been torn between this and the scar ii 1070 for a while now and I think with the exception of the screen response time this tops it. Obvs only 8gb of ram but not expensive to buy another stick.

Gtx1070s have been around the same price. Not cold but not really hot I'd say. Warm.

I'd agree. Right now this is a good price but a GTX 1660 Ti shouldn't really be over £1000 as it's a mid-range GPU (even though it's a good one).

thought the 1660ti was basically the same performance as a 1070 but used less power. price seems reasonable to me if that's the case

The 1070 is 3 years old now and was right at the top for a while (other than the 1080), I wouldn’t buy a 1070 laptop now really and I wouldn’t pay this much for a 1660 Ti powered one either, when they reach mainstream they should be a bit more reasonable. I’d expect this to be around £100 less despite the decent CPU.

Yeah the power benefit is worth considering.

true but then again the 20 series is not the jump up the 10 series was so the performance is still one of the best you can get in a laptop. I don't doubt it will get cheaper and maybe quite soon, for right now I consider this good value (assuming the laptop is actually any good, thermals, battery, screen quality etc)
This seems good price for the new processor and decent graphics card. Hot me thinks
