This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Great prices on gaming laptops are few and far between at the moment. This is a half decent deal given that there's very little difference between the 8th gen i7-8750H and the 9th gen i7-9750H. It may or may not have a 144hz screen but the tech specs aren't conclusive so can't confirm for definite. It may also be a Max Q processor but that's not clear either so you might want to check with Microsoft Store before you pull the trigger.

Tech specs

HP OMEN 15-dc1005na Gaming Laptop
15.6-inch Full HD display
Intel Core i7-8750H
8GB memory/256GB SSD + 1TB SATA
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics

I'm gonna bite!
Think this will be live still tomorrow?
Does upgrading the ssd effect warranty? Or adding another stick of ram?

I think it's live up until the 7th depending on stock availability.
Tempted to ask currys or John Lewis to price match?
Anyone got this? I've got my debit card out because I'm so close to biting

Don't take it for gospel but I'm pretty sure you're okay to upgrade ssd and ram without it affecting your warranty. Maybe someone else could confirm for sure?

I had a similar machine but I sent mine back because of terrible screenbleed. Other than that it was fantastic but I'd definitely want to know for sure that it's a 144hz screen before I'd part with my money.

Ah okay this isn't the 144?

It's not clear. If you look up the model number on Amazon it says it's got a 144hz screen but a Max Q GPU so I'd ring Microsoft Store in the morning to confirm exactly what's under the bonnet if I were you.
Thanks bud
You need more than 8GB ram to use get use of the RTX Cards full potential

Yeah, i think most people are just going to order another stick of 8gb

Agreed but a second 8gb stick is less than £30 at the moment so not too bad.
It is a 144 screen, model number in the spec 5QP98EA#ABU, you can check the detail on hp website

Doesn't mention Max Q so maybe it's a full 2060 then?
I'm pretty sure this is the model a friend of mine had and the laptop doesn't have nvidia optimus, the laptop was great but he returned it because the lack of optimus because he found the battery to be terrible so just a heads up if you're going to be out and about with this laptop! This still gets heat from me though, frustrating how few good laptop deals there are at the moment

Ain't that the truth matey! I'm seeing laptops in some sales that are £200 more now than before Christmas but which claim to have been reduced!

It's really hard to tell for sure. I may be wrong but I think HP tends to put the full versions in its Omen laptops but the Max Qs in its Pavilions. Wouldn't like to bet on it though.

Edit: I think it may actually be a Max Q because the Max Q GPUs are mentioned at the start of the tech sheet posted by @Equalizer25 above.

Last Omen I bought had the 1060 max q.
Regret daily missing out on the two 20% off Very deals on the Lenovo Y540 and Acer Pred 300, i thought Black Friday and Christmas Sales might ease the blow on missing those two deals but nothing thats made me bite yet

Yeah, I was looking at the tech sheet and that mentions Max Q so they obviously do put them in the Omens. The last one I bought however was advertised as a Max Q on HP's website but turned out to be a full 1660 ti. I personally wouldn't pull the trigger on one of these until it's confirmed one way or the other.

£30 for another stick, might be because plenty of people will go to 32gb themselves?
Still can't believe they put an 2060 and 8gb ram I know it's like 30£ but is funny
I had the 1060 maxq version of this with same Cpu, everything else was same spec too, it was a good gaming laptop with the 144hz screen, I ended up sending it back 3 weeks later, these get very hot, and when that fan kicks in, you wouldnt want to be sitting in the same room as your missus trying to watch tv lol. It gets very hot on your lap too, I ended up sitting it on the box on my lap so it wasnt uncomfortable. Just something to bare in mind

Yeah i was thinking about doing a 0.5 undervolt but tbf i don't think anymore you can expect to use these machines on your lap.

How Was the hp software? For fan control clock speeds etc?

I undervolted mine, and got the temps down a bit, but the fans were still too loud, I had hoped to be able to do some gaming whilst still sat in the room with my wife, it just wasnt going to happen with it being as loud as it was. The hp software was good from what I remember, but I used Intel software to under volt etc.

Its slower by a fair margin but its apparently got very good thermals
For the OP one, could you buy a cooling board fan thing that it sits on? I’m thinking about pulling the trigger and unleashing money I haven’t got!!

Can't see why not. If you actually need one for it then the TeckNet fan for £12.99 is looking like quite good value. amazon.co.uk/Tec…c=1
