Yes
Works out even cheaper if you can get your hands on Xbox credit, as you can use that to pay.
This is pretty decent is it not?

This model suffer any throttling or heat issues?
Just to point out that I've had 2 gaming laptops from Currys in a row. The G5 15. And an Omen 17 and both got hit with heat issues hitting 95-100c on any game and around 70c idle. This issue seems to be intel turbo boost because as soon as you turn it off the heat issues go. However, so does half your processor speed. So no thanks. If you are going into PC gaming get a desktop.

My son has a msi and doesn't suffer from any heat issues.
Certainly if you don't need portability get a desktop, but there are some decent budget gaming laptops out there

It’s not an issue with turbo boost and more an issue with poor (cheap) cooling design which is insufficient to cool the cpu under continued high load. This is where just looking at spec’s isn’t enough, you need to find good detailed reviews.
I think they printed the price upside down :-) (movie reference)
Have the model before this, with the 7th gen i7 (and a 1070 gfx card). Gave it to the kids as it annoyed me too much in the end.

I had it in bits and spruced up the thermals a bit, however the best advice I could give if you want to run this without throttling (which will end up stuttering your games) is to get into the power management and just stick the max cpu at 99% - turbo boost will then not engage and there will be no overheating so no throttling.

HP are pretty bad at this kind of thing, although the equivalent spec "proper" gaming laptop of mine at the time was a whopping £500 extra (plus I got 10% off mine, so that would make it £650 cheaper), so you get what you pay for...
Ao.com price match also get them to use 40laptop code to get 40 pound off extra
This is a very hot deal. I have the 15" 7700 version and it's excellent. I know it's a different processor but the thermals are very good and with this being a 17" model I'd imagine it would have better cooling.

Yep, ya Can make a nice lil saving that way, but bare in mind you can only put about £855 credit into a Microsoft account via gift cards.
