2666mhz ram only.That's cold

I don't think I've ever seen anything faster on a laptop? That's the max that is supported by that processor too so maybe do some research before down voting?

Nah, at least 3000mhz

Nah, at least 3000mhz

That isn't officially supported by the CPU? You got any links to these laptops with 3000mhz ram?
It’s good spec wise just wonder how is the screen quality some of these has very bad breed and washed out colours.

Never really seen a laptop with 3000mhz
Tempting.

For all the difference 3000mhz makes over 2666mhz, what's the point in even making this an issue. Looks a great spec laptop though, I'd buy if needed one

Sounds like your having a Rodney Trotter moment ( you plonker )
Flimsy lid with that single hinge makes the screen very flexible. I have heard that HP Omens's have an over-heating issue and the fans run loud which is annoying if you are not playing games and using headphones/external speakers.I might have to look at an Omen 15 with a double hinge 15.6" screen. I am not a gamer but just need the spec for video and graphics work.
Great spec for this price, not sure about throttling issues.
Only 17.3 inch and not 17.4? Cold.

Being slightly pedantic, the new 10th Gen Ice Lake laptops support 3733mhz RAM. Perhaps there's something about them that means it's worthwhile.

Me too...I feel exactly the same way about the hinge and 17" screen

The hinge is two hinges underneath a cover if you watch the teardown of this. Also the cooling has been fixed in the 2019 version.

I have one arriving today after much research, will let you know.

For £1300ish a 2070, 500gb NVMe and 16gb Ram its a good deal

This is definitely going to be a stupid question but how does this compare to a "MacBook Pro 13-inch Touch Bar 2.3GHz i5 quad 16GB/256GB Silver 2018 Edition"? Obviously different OS and this has a gaming graphics card, but in terms of performance for e.g. coding/lots of applications open at once, speed/quality of SSD, memory etc?

Would this also be a far superior all around machine? Or not much of a difference?

The i7 has more cores and threads 6 cores and 12 threads meaning it will be far superior for multi tasking. And it has faster ram afaik.

Sounds good, can't see what ports it uses but can you connect a 4k display to these too? Know if it's USB or thunderbolt? Appreciate the help also, was hoping for something with 3-4 ports for 3-4 monitors like the Macbook pro has
