On the lookout for a cheap(ish) 17" gaming laptop and came across this.

Can upgrade the RAM and add a bigger SSD if required but for this price I couldn't find anything better, this side of Black Friday anyway.

I can't believe 1050ti laptops are still selling for this price.

Before I get Suspended, what's the deal with the ram upgrade? Slots / max etc.
17" ? Jeez, probably boosts a car battery in it...

All I can find, is it has ram 2 slots and 1 stick of 8gb 2666 ddr4 preinstalled, leaving one slot free. Max speed will be 2666. Pretty sure max is 32gb in total, but can't confirm that as it doesn't say on the datasheet. Hope this helps!

I got a new 1060 6gb laptop for £770 seven months ago so this does seem expensive to be honest... but I think that's laptops in general. Consoles in my opinion are great value for money for what you get. A ps4 pro must have similar performance to a 1050ti card and they can be bought for around £300.

You can't really compare this to a console but I agree that in general laptop gaming is expensive.

A 1050Ti is not going to set the world alight I know but for the level of gaming I need it's fine and spec/price wise I can't find anything better right now.
Cold from me, this laptop is outdated now and the price is not good enough.

Power wise the 1050 Ti is more equivalent to a standard PS4, the 1060 is more comparable to the PS4 Pro.

Thanks for your input chaps. Are you able to point me in the direction of something better for around the same price please?

Now expired, but with £200 you get better CPU, more RAM, way more GPUpower.
Non-INTEL deal, slightly less CPU, better GPU, same RAM, £70 less
Not going into details.
This is probably the best direct-example.

just keep your eyes open, things do come up.

Thanks Cap.

Most of those are only 15" but that ASUS TUF deal looked good. Will keep my eyes peeled but will probably wait till BF now anyway.

Let's not compare peasant 15" to the 17.3" master race please.

it depends on your tradeoffs preferences.
ScreenSize, ScreenRefresh, ScreenView, CPU, GPU, RAM, HD, (brand quality/reliability?) extras.
A 17" for example is bulkier and weights more, draws more power, heats-up more but could potentialyl have better cooling..

At the end of the day "beauty is in the eye of th beholder"..
Got can get a 1650 laptop for £699 which is on par with a 1060 performance wise.
I got a GTX1070 equipped machine for £850 during summer. Seems to handle everything pretty well.
Granted, the CPU is a bit older but hey ho.
