Minimum spec to play recent games and mixed reality is so bad they have just halved the price on Microsoft (US) to get rid of stock. Must be the fastest price drop in history, 1 month = 50% off

Saying that if you can clear £200 for the headset, £650 is a good price for the PC.

They've sold them all now but the acer & lenovo went for $199 (£150) and the dell and hp $250 (£190). The Samsung wasn't discounted. gsmarena.com/mic…php

its a really bad vr headset that barely anyone with common sense would buy reason its being bundled with this

Price would only be good BECAUSE of the VR, however it's not a good VR.

You can easily get a prebuilt same CPU, GTX 1070 and 16GB RAM for £50 less than this, I would chose that over this even if the 1060 was the 6GB not the 3GB.

Cold from me

Regardless of how good or bad the VR is, good luck trying to run VR with a 3GB 1060, im sure that wont be at all saddening to watch

The Rift runs and looks fine on a 1060 3gb.
A 1060 3GB with a VR headset?

Comedy.

Won't be a problem as Microsoft headsets don't need the same sort of power that the Rift/Vive do (together with no base stations needed it's the only real advantage they have), I've got this headset (£260 warehouse deal) and it works well with both my 580 and my sons 280x.

Good to hear, wasnt taking in to consideration the difference between this and the rift etc. However a gtx 1070 with same CPU and 16gb ram 2tb hdd will cost you £50 less than this and the rift has been sub £300 making it roughly the same price you’ve paid. Food for thought thats all:D
Minimum spec for the headset is NVidia GTX 965M/AMD RX 460 or greater DX12 capable discrete GPU

I'm with you, there are several reasons not to buy this PC but not being able to power the headset isn't one of them :-)

Not strictly true, yes WMR headsets can run on low spec but once you get in to gaming the required spec is the same. Arizona Sunshine on wmr requires at least a 1060 3gb with i5 4590, recommended spec is a GTX1070 with i7 6700K.

When you add in the Rift can use ASW to make 45fps look like 90fps i'd say WMR actually needs more power to run games.

The thing is WMR isn't suitable for gaming anyway due to the design, when you move about the visor moves making the screen go out of focus. It also gets incredibly hot, you can feel the heat on your eyeballs.

That's not my experience as far as visor movement or heat goes, it suppose it depends upon which headset and the shape of your head.

Couldn't agree more, being able to get an entirely better setup for cheaper is a good reason

i sell computers online for living, this is a very good deal. we use refurb componenets to build similar systems and they cost around £6-700 without the VR.

The your teen is over 14, VR is safe too i reckon.hope this helps
