if stock available, then an awesome deal.

Yeah in store as title says

Incredible deal- well done for bagging that!

Just incase this saves anyone a wasted trip, they didn't have any in Chelmsford or Colchester as of a couple of hours ago (went looking for the Lumix G5 which someone mentioned the other day- no luck in terms of that either!)

in case you didn't understand(which going by your reply it seems you didn't) smitha means if stock is available in other stores(if I'm understanding correctly). however

Great offer in you can find it. Good deal OP

by the way your over zealous predictive text misspelt ... Thought

Was it a one off or did they have more?

If you put a comma into the OP between fought and was, the price makes a little more sense. It was obviously damaged during the battle. Who knew finding deals was like catching Pokemon?

Good deal but in-store only deals sucks, especially Currys who always seem to have store-specific discounts but other branches don't have a clue about.

Just spoke to currys. They have 4 around by me in various stores but they are display models. They confirmed the one in Glasgow was a display model as I read out the receipt code. One in Taunton she said

what other stores were they in? really want one of these!

I got one last night from the Ayr store. When I called customer services yesterday morning it took them a minute or two to find it because it had been deleted off the website and the remaining stock are all display models. Once they had found it they could tell me which stores in my local area still had stock.

Is this the tablet which came with windows 8 and office? If so might be worth the goose chase I guess

Yes, I had one. Full office and windows 8. A powerful one

Shame that not many compatible cases.

In that case might have to go have a quick look round a few stores...

May have a wander at lunchtime....

According to an earlier thread apparently it fits the samsung note 10.1 perfectly. Brilliant tablet, and at this price a no brainer, if you can find it that is.

My experience of Currys/PCW ex-display tablets is that they are in very poor condition - all of them.

A little dishonest of the OP not to declare ex-display if it was.

I think it depends on what the item is. I bought 2 ex display Logitech Squeezradios from Currys about 2 years ago, as they were kept in a glass cabinet, noone could get their fingers on it, and they were in perfect condition.

Might be different for tablets, although you can hardly move them from their stands where they are on display, loads of people will try pick them up

none in peterborough!

I usually take 'Ex display' to mean, displayed in customer's house, before returning as faulty, damaged, or parts missing, a bit like refurbished, but without having a member of staff switch it on first, to check if it starts. (_;)

Ex display means it's been on display Instore only. Guaranteed as a new one. This is a clearance item so most stores will have none left or just the display model. Condition will vary from store to store. Mansfield has none

Just rung up Currys Sales Desk, with that receipt product code there is none on their system which means it is it is down to store, I am told, if one comes across one at a store.

Could you please put "HP" at the start of the title? I know it's in the photo but I look at the title first and was thinking "who the hell is Omni?"

It is a shopping centre in glasgow

Ive reserved one through their helpline yesterday to pick up in store. They've confirmed price and availability, but surprise surprise, none in stock when i got tho the store. They've even sent me over to pc world next door to check if they've had any in stock but they didn't. But they have also told me that it would be impossible to have one reserved if it wasnt in stock an hour ago, and that basicly a member of staff must have bought it and played me for a fool. I will never buy anything from them again. Also customer services where not interested and only offered me money for the cost of fuel. Bad joke.

Treat them like fools. Go back to the store, then ask the manager to check for when the last one was sold. They can search for reciepts on the system based on product code. Then get him to check who bought it and when. Assuming its staff, rip him a new one and report them to Head Office. This is of course assuming they had one in the first place.

I can't be asked anymore after spending about 2h on the phone and writing a heated letter of complaint. It's done and I know they don't give a **** about their customers. I got one from Tesco now.

Hey everyone. I popped down to my local one in Fulham/Wandsworth Bridge but didn't have any luck. Gonna try the Wimbledon, Kingston, Merton (apparently there is a store there) and possibly Central London store if I have time though not holding my breath.

Anyone know if they have a store in Camden?

Thanks OP. Looked in so many different stores till I took a journey to their Brent Cross branch and the guy (very friendly by the way) managed to find the last one for me!!! Only downer is that it didn't come with a charger but not too fussed as I'll just get it elsewhere or mabye use one of my USB ones if its compatible/not propietory.

BTW both Kingston and Wimbledon have none. Haven't tried T. COurt road central but apparently theres none there. Camden had non, Purley Way (close to Croydon) had one display unit but they refused to sell. Keep trying everyone! You might get one if you go out there and search

I looked up Tesco web site for this item, there was no mention of MS Office. Did yours come with it?

Picked up the only one in the Chippenham store this afternoon. Got to say, all the Currys' staff were incredibly helpful. Online sales guy tried putting me through to all the Bristol stores in turn until one answered. The store assistant then called around all the towns nearest trying to locate me one and got the Chippenham store to hold it for me.

Haha! No, this definitely straight off the display - still in demo mode and covered in fingerprints which cleaned off but the screen is unmarked. The metal HP sticker on the back is bent on one side so I removed it.

Comes with very little - only charger, 8Gb microSD with recovery and Office product key.

BTW, the charger is 12v, 1.5A with a 3mm barrel type dc jack so you won't be able to use a usb one.

Noticed the HP Aftercare was activated in Nov so I'm trying to get them to start it from purchase date.

i bought a Acer ICONIA A1-810 in Asda last week for £100.
Its a 8 inch screen and was brand new in a box with a charger.
I see they are now selling it for £80 !

See the OMNI 10 thread. I've put a link to a bluetooth one on ebay for a Note 10.1 which works absolutely perfectly with mine.

In all honesty, even at £250, these are a steal compared with their competitors.
