Whats in the box: HP Laptop + Charger

These HP Laptops are ( Cabinet Display ) Ex Demo units from a major retailer and in immaculate ( A+ Grade ) like new condition with no signs of use but may have a VERY minor buff or scuff on the casing due to handling. The unit will be supplied in its original retail packaging or will have been professionally plain boxed. The units carry  a 3 Months Warranty for Peace of Mind.

Has anyone here actually owned one of these? Looks like a good deal, but not sure if it is worth the £100 to lose the longer guarantee that might be obtained from some retailers e.g .John Lewis. Maybe the recent weakness in the pound will lead to higher import prices in the future? Interested to hear comments before I bought.

3 months warranty and peace of mind? Really??:{

not a lot of 'peace of mind' is it!

looks good to me

Shame about the warranty, decent spec though, anyone know of anything similar in this price range?

lol, they clearly have no confidence in the product if they only give a 3 month warranty. no thank you svp.

You may find it is longer as HP software is often loaded and it informs you when warranty expires. Some people purchased refurbished models from ebay and ended up with 6 months warranty (still poor).
I think all laptops should have a minimum of 2 years warranty.

Buy new and if it breaks down ask for a free repair. If they refuse file a claim in the small claims court and watch the free repair (cheaper than defending the claim when costs cannot be reclaimed).

I own an i3 5157u pavilion with Intel iris graphics 6100 and a 1tb HDD and I could say it's a very solid laptop. good battery life, gives good framerates on csgo (60+fps on minimum settings) and is generally a fast laptop. I imagine this will be much faster because of its newer processor and it's ssd. personally me thinks it's a good deal

at this price I would expect quad core processor

Interesting comments. If you are lucky enough to pay with a Nationwide Credit Card, this will probably work.
On a recent, much smaller purchase, which I will not name in public, they were very helpful. I had to prove the problem, with some evidence (photo), and they just recharged to full amount to the seller, and credited my account. Think it is good value, and would have gone ahead if 12 months warranty. Not sure what to do now, will probably miss this one.

Brother repaired a printer after 5 years.
BMW replaced sensor as goodwill.
Korean phone supplier resolved issue.
CPW sent cheque by special delivery.

Small claims court is barely £35 for £500 claims. I only needed to file a claim once and they settled.
The greatest advantage is costs cannot be recovered except court fee. To defend a barrister will cost £2k.
If they send educated staff, that is still few hundred pounds. Add on costs and time for witness statements and a defence, it is just not worth a corporate defending.

3 month warranty? I really don't think so. Obviously something wrong with them.

If you do buy one, make sure it's on a credit card so you're covered in case they refuse any repairs etc (there's a term for this but I'm work and half asleep)

owned an earlier model and has had issues often

Well that's a very unreasonable expectation.

Looks a good deal to me. As you mentioned the display could be better but I still think it's a bargain. Thanks OP
