Pretty decent price for the spec but that won't stop the cold voters who must have 1TB SSD, 4K screen, 16GB ram and an i7 quad core in their laptop, and price less than £150.

Is it i3? i5?
AMD 10 - similar to i3 but very slightly faster
I have this, got it in December for £318, it's good, works a treat, battery lasts about 4 hours. Does what I need.
1920x1080.
Hot
I've been looking for something like this, but have a very specific requirement, which is that it runs silently or nearly so (my current laptop's fan runs constantly). Does anyone know please?

Your right, nothing to cold vote on
I think I've got the one up from this. It was listed on HUKD about a year ago. Maybe from Laptops direct. Can't quite recall.
Was described as second hand, but definitely wasn't. God knows. FHD, 4gb ram + another 2gb with a low/medium power graphics card, 256gb SSD, polished metal appearance.

Anyone with one remember the deal?

It's not silent, fan kicks in pretty frequently, it's not very loud but it's noticeable.
Not bad for the price at all
Only thing I will say is HP have a tendency to use single ram sticks. If this will take a second for dual channel the APU will benefit from the bandwidth increase
Anyone know if it is touchscreen\recommend a model at around this price that is? Thanks
How easy is it to upgrade to 8gb
Just bought one. Thanks.
Weight is 3.1kg according to the spec - compare with 1.7kg for similarly priced 14 inch models (without dedicated GPU) recently posted. Might want to take that into account if portability is more important to you than screen size / gaming.

Looks good to me , very tempted. I have a Chromebook but this I can use for alot more than internet like picture editor and iTunes

most tales are when one quite obviously has never read any
Bit of infor on the CPU............

The quad-core AMD A10 is equivalent to Intel's dual-core hyper-threaded i5. Intel's i5 quad-core is superiors to AMD A10 quad-core. APU/AMD CPU's are better than an Intel integrated. To compare any 2 CPU's(Intel or AMD) use - cpuboss.com.

How was the laptop for you ? Quick start up ? Well built ?

Quick to boot due to the SSD, I generally use word, excel, PowerPoint and some web browsing, the odd film and some music, all works well and never noticed any lag even if music, word and browsing all happening at once.

Build is better than my last laptop, it's plastic so it isn't high end but feels solid. It doesn't feel heavy either. Keyboard is fine, mouse tracker thing is fine, no complaints which I guess is what you want.

Oh and to me the screen looks good, I use a 3 year old but very expensive laptop for work and the screen on this appears better but no idea why (spec looks the same on the face of it).

Frankly it's about right for what I want and I'll expect to replace in 3 years.

Sorry, no idea about games on it.
Now costs 529.
Does anyone know if this has a second RAM slot sitting empty?
It'd be good to upgrade by adding another 4GB. Cheaper than having to buy a single 8GB stick.
