Ofcourse the HP has 4GB extra ram, but thats not worth the processor downgrade and £50!

Yes I have seen ASUS one but considering it has 4GB more RAM and extra 250 GB HDD space and the better brand (HP) I would recommend this..

Just to clarify, I don't think HP is regarded as a particularly good brand, is it?

Considering the specs, this laptop would be a worse deal even if they were both 299.99. HDD space is literally worthless- you can pick up 2TB for £50. As for RAM, yeah it has more, but it's not going to have any real effect on your performance because they're both gonna suck at games and video/photo editting anyways.

You're right, its not "literally worthless", its worth about a fiver, so maybe I should have said "completely irrelevant when comparing laptops". Do you have anything to say to that, or are you just nitpicking at a word?
