AMD A8-6410 quad core processor I think. Not 6 cores as the name would suggest.

HP marketing!

How does this compare against the hp-envy deal?

Which one?

Nice specs for the price. I also find HP has better build quality than some other brands in this price range.

HP call it Hexa-Core because it has 4 CPU cores and 2 GPU cores.

Personally I think that's a borderline fraudulent description.

Maybe it does but can u find one at the same price?

just ordered! thanks

Watch out for these HP Pavilion laptops. Why? Well, if you want to update the HDD it requires ripping the thing apart rather than the usual 4 screws, un-clip and replace. I cannot believe in the current era how HP can design a laptop in such a way. It's shameful really. I know they want people to pay for a HP engineer to do an upgrade/repair but we are talking about the HDD which is the most likely failure point in any laptop/PC (bar those with a SSD).

If it doesn't apply to this model I apologise for spamming the deal. Otherwise, buyer beware.

nope and haven't tried.

When they cannot even put i7/i5/i3/A10/A8/A6 etc in the title but rather put Octa/Hexa -Core etc., it most likely will be a slow AMD CPU. Calling it Hexa-Core is simply lying ...... one should not mix cpu and gpu altogether!

Not bad for the price

Quite right, noticing this a lot with AMD products now, its almost as if the sellers are scared to tell you it has AMD inside....

Yeah it's HP marketing team in full BS mode >

HP Hexa-Core (2 GHz, 4 CPU cores, 2 GPU cores)

Voted cold for the horribly misleading CPU description in the title. No fault of the OP but HP treating the consumer as stupid.

Good deal. Got a similar laptop with an I5 processer and does everything I need it too.

I've got one n it's fine......ppl obviously used to their alienware laptops and looking down on the affordable stuff with horror!

whats the graphics like on this?

I'd personally buy an Argos eBay refurb. 12 months warranty, often brand new returns. If you get one you aren't happy with just return it due to unacceptable condition for free, no risk in buying one.
They usually have various i5 and i3 laptops well priced I've found an Acer E1-571 with an i5 4210U processor which was released just 12 months ago and is 4th gen (much better than the hexa-core!) for £249.99 delivered. It has a 1TB HDD, but 4GB RAM so add another 4GB stick from crucial for £27.19 delivered to hit 8GB and wipe the floor with this one performance wise.

And remember, all this is just advice you can do whatever the heck you wanna do!

"borderline fraudulent" is being rather polite I'd say. Hope not too many unaware consumers get fooled by this

Judging by the amount of heat I'd say a lot of people have been fooled.
The build quality is likely to be good though and the sound quality will be very good with it being Beats. The processor isn't going to be dire, but on a par with a run of the mill i3, and inferior to an i5.

Anyone buying this should be made aware..

Thanks for that! Just ordered one with £20 off code

What a load of rubbish, the average punter would not be taken in by Hexi Core marketing, people buy this for the price, for example, most people that see i3 in the title, think they are buying a BMW.

So you don't think the misrepresentation of the CPU in this deal is BS marketing. Well done sucker.

I have a beats laptop (HP Pavilion M6), ironically with an AMD A10-4600M processor and the sound quality is better than your average, I.e. not tinny.
I picked up another HP (ProBook G2 470) but with an i5 4210U and dedicated graphics card for £146 after all the cashback etc and prefer it performance wise but speakers aren't as good.

Well what's in Beats Audio? check it out:

The “redesigned headphone jack” simply makes the jack itself out of pla … The “redesigned headphone jack” simply makes the jack itself out of plastic instead of metal to reduce potential noise. So any laptop with a plastic jack (and most desktops) essentially have that component of Beats Audio already.A “discrete headphone amp” is the addition of a ground cable in between the stereo cables and better insulation of the cables themselves, so that there is less interference. And when they say “amp” they’re just referring to the audio being powered in general (like every computer) — the video itself even points out that the presence of a separate amplifier component is simulated. The “dedicated audio island” is exactly what they say it is — simply isolating audio components on the circuit board. Like making the “amp” more “discrete,” this brings that isolation the rest of the way to the board. Finally, the “Beats Audio profile” sounds like marketing speak for “equalizer setting.”

I don't think it is misleading: it is an APU not a CPU. AMD has different architecture. Your phone might have a "quad core" ARM cpu as well... yet you would not expect the same performance.
Also, the "4 CPU cores" actually mean 4 integer units (there are only 2 floating units within the CPU).

Come on, it's marketed as just Hexa Core, you really have to hunt around to get the real information. This isn't even as powerful as many quad core CPUs. You really think they're being honest here?

which one this or this http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/laptops-netbooks/laptops/laptops/hp-15-g092sa-15-6-laptop-black-10011511-pdt.html

this or the hp that was 299.97 at pc world? they look he same other than the beats audio thing

I think you'll find it's you not getting the point, the type of buyer looking at this price range, does not care how many cores the thing has/doesn't have.

They only realise that what they have brought is a pile of crap when they try and install GTAV.
