This is a perfectly reasonable deal, though if I had my way i would have taken the acer aspire 5 (i5,mx550) over this, but that's no longer on offer. Student's get an extra £60 off, so its £539. It's very difficult to complain considering its a 25W discrete GPU that outperforms the 50W 680M iGPU in my Alienware m15 r7 (ryzen 9 6900HX). The 680m chewed up battery life as quickly as the 3070ti on battery, so there was quite literally no benefit, certainly doesn't help that it consumes 50W which is on par with some 3050 laptops. It will play all legacy titles (CSGO,TF2 e.g) , anything competitive pretty well. Just keep your expectations in check for modern titles. It's an easy recommendation for a student tbh. The omission of a backlit keyboard isn't a must for many who touch type like myself, despite it's aesthetic appeal.

Not bad, if one wants/needs a light business laptop with a big touchscreen
Can be bought on PayPal Credit.

The screen has an old 16:9 ratio - looks like HP is behind the other manufacturers when it comes to moving to 16:10 screens.

Most of the laptops in crazy screen sizes come with Soldered ram. This is much better as ram slots to add 64gb ram for £100 (edited)

I don't like HP, but this is a good model, and the specs are good for the price, too. I don't know why this is cold, perhaps because some people perceive this as a gaming laptop. This can handle some games, but I call this a deal if you want decent, up to date specs, in a decent body, and you don't buy it purposely for gaming. Dedicated GPU will save the RAM for other tasks. Saying this, if you do not need the dedicated GPU, you can probably buy the same specs minus the GPU at a cheaper price. I voted hot! (edited)

This is not a gaming laptop and It's not advertised as one on here but is is capable. When people see a discrete gpu system think it's only use is for gaming and better gaming systems are out there for it but forget other aspects like portability, its features, then the users its aimed at etc (edited)
