Can you recommend another laptop for gaming at a similar or higher price? I'm struggling to find one.

screen size is pretty irrelevant. Pixel count is what matters. a GTX 1050 is more than enough for 1080p but you wont be maxing out settings on demanding titles. Though that can be said for anything that isn't a 1080 / 1080ti.

Lmao, you're right, it'll handle 1080p on a 5" screen though. Screen size is irrelevant.

Wowsers. People are in a really bad mood here today.

No of course I did not know it was out of stock.

And if you look at my deal history you will see I have sporadically posted over the last 9 years only on items I have found because I am looking to buy myself.

Chill out.

No it’s not there’s a search function on this site use it. How hard is it to type “laptop” or “gaming laptop” in the search function.

Can you read? Did I not say have a look through recent and expired deals? The price is still the same just doesn’t come with vr, surely if you have a brain cell you can work that one out.

Actually, he's right to an extent - I have the i5 and 2GB 1050 in mine and it struggles with a number of modern games - for example, Forza Horizon 3 scrapes around 30 FPS unless I set the graphics so low it looks like it's from 2005. Ghost Recon Wildlands needs all settings at low and still won't get a locked 60FPS, and the VRAM usage exceeds the 2GB if I put anything to even medium. Watch Dogs at 1080p won't get locked 60 FPS with anywhere decent settings. Summary - don't get an i5 and 2GB 1050 expecting 60FPS (even on 1080p) on modern and upcoming titles. On the other hand, it will handle more optimised eSportstitles like Overwatch well enough. How much the i7 in this improves things I can't say

Without the VR headset included, that deal isn't nearly as good of a deal. It's also exactly the same price as this in that case, so how is it better than this deal? Useless for the OP who was obviously asking if he could get BETTER specs than this deal for the same orsimilar price

Clearly he wasn't coming from a technical background, but he had the right idea - a large 17" screen like this is likely to come with at least a 1080p resolution - so yeah, you're gonna need more graphical power to power the visuals with modern games at an acceptable level - if 60fps 1080p is your standard. Not everyone's a tech nerd

What do you think needs to be the bottom end standard...

What do you think needs to be the bottom end standard...

That depends on the games you're into and the graphical sacrifices you're willing to make - since I play mostly eSports or older titles a 1050 does the job for me
I'[m not sure how this can be described as a gaming laptop... no SSD, 2GB 1050 i.e. not 4GB.

Maybe there should be a min spec for gaming laptops here? For me a gaming laptop is at least 1050ti and has an SSD.

Good offer but not a gaming laptop...

Lol. Good luck with that. It was the description on the site anyway, but is now unavailable, so should be expired.
