Hey all, this will probably go cold, but on my quest to find a nice priced pc. I found this one, £262 for the base unit in staples.

AMD X2 4600+
2GB DDR2 Ram
WD 320Gb Hard Drive
6100 Onboard Graphics
DVD Dual Layer with Lightscribe

HP Quality

One thing I will say, there isnt that much crappy software on it, which is good. And it is very fast considering the price. It matches the old dell quad core intel I used to have whic hwas £300 on here not long ago.

Its a nice pc, plus a good make from a UK retail store, which are all bonuses in my opinion. You can get the same for roughly the same price, but I have been searching, from the retail stores, this is the best money can buy I think at the moment.

The Acer M3201 has been back in stock at tesco: Phenom 9550 and 8600GT with 2GB Ram and 360G HD for £279.

i havent seen it in stock for weeks. must have missed it. To comment on this tho, the acer build quality on the newly shaped base units is awful. The hp is nice and shiny.

You can prob self build a better spec system tbo..

Yawn

ebay has some good ones. there's a nice E-Systems one listed.

Maybe i was unlucky but i bought one of these a few days back from Staples, first the keyboard was faulty, they exchanged it after several phone calls and in the end a visit to the shop. It worked ok and was all i needed, but i just could not get the sound to work at all. By then i had lost faith and it was packed up and back to the shop. Why is it they don't trust anyone, we spent almost 45 mins setting up the computer, and as i predicted the sound was not working. I took the refund option as i had by then lost all faith in HP. Leaves me at a loss what to buy now and from who.
