Very nicely speced 2 in 1 laptop from HP.

13.3" Full HD, touchscreen
Performant Intel i5 (5th gen)
8GB RAM
128GB SSD

Tell me if I'm wrong, but seems to me to be decent PC for good price.

Was looking at JL yesterday, very lightweight and powerful machine.
Whats the graphics card? That specs doesn't say anything. Graphics card most important.

it's Intel HD Graphics 5500 (see here: www8.hp.com/uk/…816!tab=specs)

and I wouldn't agree graphic card is most important. It really depends on what you're using it for.
What`s the point of "2 in 1`s" ?.
You either want a laptop or a tablet. not a hybrid.

Can't find any reviews for this model... torn between this and the ASUS ultrabook
Can't find any reviews either. Would be nice to have a look at it in store. Anyone any experience with Laptops Direct? They have some pretty awful reviews about.
laptops direct are shocking. they will take your money process the payment and then tell you the item is out of stock. it will then take a few weeks to get your refund.. stay away from them

I bought this laptop yesterday from laptops direct. it says it's on it way to me today.. I'll let you know once I get the parcel if everything is ok.
Other drawback for laptops direct is the fact they only give 3 months warranty and I don't know if you would be still covered by 12 months from HP (suspect not).

Can you give us some thoughts on the device too (assuming it actually does arrive)?

So I got the parcel, so laptops direct delivered on time (bought yesterday and paid extra for next day delivery). However box is really light. I hope that's because laptop is light and not because they forgot to put computer inside X)
Anyway I'm currently at work and can't open the box, so will come back later again to give you my first impressions.

Next day update:
So the laptop is all fine. Looks pristine.
It came with Windows 7 though, but I upgraded it yesterday to Win10 without any problems. And the good thing is it is clean Win7, without any junk normally preinstalled by HP.

My first impressions:
Laptop seems quite quick just now, but I haven't done much to test it yet. Screen is ok, I like touch screen. It's very nicely build, it's rigid, nothing wobbles.

I like the keyboard a lot, but the trackpad is strange... It seems very slow, even after I changed pointer speed. It's not possible to move mouse cursor from one edge of the screen to the other with just one swipe (I had a look at few different settings and couldn't fix it, but I haven't said my last world, I hope there is a bit of configuration somewhere that will help it). I like gestures on the trackpad (two fingers scrolling etc).

When not doing anything process heavy laptop is very quiet, gets a bit louder with heavier usage, but nothing too bad.
How is the screen quality? Did you check the specs were the same as listed? Thanks

Screen looks ok to me. I kept brightness low to get more out of the battery so it didn't look spectacular. But up the brightness a bit and it looks good (I'm no expert in this field, I'm mainly using my 8 years old 40" tv connected to the PC, so...).
Spec was excatly as expected (8GB RAM, 120GB SSD, i5, FullHD).
The only thing I miss already is backlit keyboard. And it would be nice if the case was made of aluminium and not plastic (plastic inside feels really nice though)

And how is the build quality overall?

I think there is nothing wrong with the build quality. Everything fits nicely, feels well build. Nothing buckles or bends. I would describe it as good enough. There is no feeling of "oh man, what an amazing piece of engineering", but there is nothing wrong with it either.
Sold out now anyway. Damn.
has anybody tried installing usual usual 2.5" SSD/SSHD in this laptop for Storage upgrade (the only downer for this laptop being storage)?
