Found out that these are going for £19.95 in John Lewis. Picked up two today, could be a mistake but £19.95 is a bargain.
Don't know how long this is going to be on for, but worth a call to your local John Lewis to confirm stock and price.

They sold all 14 of there allocated stock today... but you can still go in store and order it. So worth a trip tomorrow. There is a HP rep in there, if you speak to him he will be able to help you out.

& they are £19.95 not £19.99 like I first posted...

Cheapest I could find is £42 online at staples

Whats the best all-in-one printer for cheap and cheap ink?

Been looking at the kodak esp range...any others around?

you can buy inks on ebay cheap

yeah but because of the print head being built in they're just refilled ones if you want cheap to run you want an Epson as the inks are just a little tank of ink so you can get them for 79p a colour

none in Nottingham thanks anyway

If you're not printing photos (and hence exact colour matching isn't an issue) can't you just drill a hole in the right location and syringe the right colour ink in. I hven't looked but presumably there are refill kits that give the correct position for each colour, or find out by trial and error on an old cartridge.

I looked at the Kodaks last week in loads of detail, but the comparisons they're making about ink is only against others that don't use individual tanks. I stuck with Canon in the end, and got a MP640 for £128 from oyyy (RRP £180ish). Brilliant quality so far and working perfectly - really high print and scan resolution. Others in the same range are quite a bit cheaper - MP560 maybe worth a look.

you just need to peel back the sticker on the top of the cartridge where you find the holes to refill

well it should work like that, it did with my old hp ones.

Got to pop in to John Lewis tomorrow anyway. Hopefully there's stock .

OK here's the deal, just ordered 2 as Crissy presents from john Lewis Bluewater over the phone from a very helpful lady,
they are £79 pound in store but Kingston are doing a hp promo day today with an in store hp rep, so Kingston are doing em for £19.95. Bluewater price matched this after conforming with Kingston (Never Knowingly Undersold) at the price of £19.65 x 2 delivered to my door for less than forty quid, done deal. :whistling:

In principal you should be able to fill a cartridge - in practice the results are very variable and the process is messy. I've wasted hours trying to get HP cartridges started again, even though they're full. I wouldn't bother with filling kits anymore.

A very good deal, but for those who can get one, i rang my local and it's still the same price. It would be good if anyone else who's bought one for this price could post it then maybe they would deliver one for me if i rang them. At Kingston they've gone back to the normal price so no luck there.

hi i just ordered one with the bluewater store over the phone, they couldn't find any record of it at first, and kingston is now back to normal price. But after checking a few times the lady said she could see an order from yesterday for 19.95 so she said i could have it for that price....hth

Lucky person :-)
tried the same and no luck...

Same here, i rang the Bluewater branch and the lady said the price yesterday was a mistake  Oh well
Thuongmi, you don't happen to know the name of who you talked to?

i think her name was lorraine - she was v helpful - she did say it was an error but she was still able to put it through for that price - it did take a while to find a record of it being sold for that price though! GL
