I might be mistaken but I saw a HP All-in-one in WHSmith yesterday for £19.99 and was going to post it but I couldn't remember the model no. I know it began with an F and I'm almost certain it was this one so I'm not voting either way.

Which WhSmith ?

Telford in Shropshire, by the till & right next to the CD-R 100 packs I posted earlier

If this F4280 is HP's base model all-in-one printer then I'm almost certain it was this one. If its a better one then thats a bonus!

Anyone know what the ink prices are like for this?

be warned this printer does not come with a usb cable

How much do you pay for ink for the epson?

Also be warned, a monchrome and a colour cartridge will cost more to replace than the printer.

These things really drink the stuff, my father in law (who is a pensioner) bought one and it cost him so much in ink he took it down the tip and bought an Epson which can use cheaper replacement cartridges.

Pound for pound hp's ink must cost more than NASA rocket fuel?, best avoid these cheaper HP printers and get a more expensive one with multiple ink cartridges.

One other thing they can copy, but they can't reduce copy, ie take an A4 photo and make an A5 one as a standalone unit, you have to mess about with a pc to do that.

You have been warned...!!

I have the 4180 and for light users it is an excellent printer. If this is half as good a great buy, and at this price you can afford to experiment with cheap cartridges. Heat. :w00t:

Or get the cartridges refilled or don't get the HP ones? Or go to Boots and get the developed yourself a lot cheaper.

Poundland.

B*lls! Just bought this last weekend from Argos for £40-odd! It did, however, come with a free wireless print server so the printer's the other side of the room from our wireless router and we can print without faffing around to plug it in to laptops.

Wireless printers do cost a fair bit, and the print server comes with a USB cable to connect to the printer so can use it all straight out of the box. If I remeber rightly, cartridges were about £20 and £16 for B&W and colour high capacity from Amazon.

Print server is about 8cmx5cmx2cm and should cost another £40 from Argos, probably far cheaper elsewhere though. I wouldn't have paid for it but as it was free...

I have a C4280 which uses 350 Blk (4.5 ml) and 351 (3.5ml) Colour cartridges.HP price is £9.95 and £12.40 respectively.Larger capacities are 350XL (25ml) £26.87 and351XL (14ml) £29.32.Prices paid when VAT was 17.5%.Works out quite a lot cheaper per copy buying the larger capacity but still drinks it up Use the lowest quality settings to minimise usage rate.

Can anyone suggest any cheap souces for genuine HP cartridges.Warranty invalidated if non-HP used.?
