1366 x 768 is a normal resolution for this price of laptop. You would be paying £100 - £200 for a Full HD one with similar specs.

I didn't say it wasn't a good deal, just that it's not a "nice" resolution.

I only paid £350 for a HP Envy 15 with full HD screen, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, 8GB SSD for OS to boot from, AMD A10-5750M Quad Core 2.5GHz (3.5GHz with boost) with Radeon HD 8650 2GB GPU, plus all the gimmicks such as Fingerprint Reader, Backlit Keyboard, 4 USB 3.0 ports etc... Literally annihilates the specs on this for an extra £50

It's a decent deal if you're after a cheap laptop for your little sister or your Nan perhaps.

Nought wrong with that resolution on a small 15" screen as its HD resolution.

It's standard though, nothing special at all. There have been much better deals for this price.

For the spec, considering it's a low power i5, this is standard now

    Link?
This year I got a similar spec HP laptop and I regret it purely because of the res. Even if not 1080p, isn't enough for me personally.
Fine res for most looking at laptops at this price point, looks better than the 250 G4 on ebuyer with exactly the same specs and same price.. Voted hot on this!

This laptop (envy) is 499 unless you can share the link to get it for 350 which by the look of it we would all appreciate?!
Currently battling with the 455 G2. Sold it on eBay and trying to restore it to factory. Just will not let me do Windows Updates. I have never hated a piece of technology so much in my life.

You can get i3, SSD, FHD, 13.3 inch Envy now for £400.
    hotukdeals.com/dea…387

I have heard people complain about quality of Envy in the past which is why I do not recommend HP Envy very highly.

I have seen Lenovo Thinkpad L440 with i5, FHD, SSD for £335 in the past. It is a Thinkpad, a premium model.

Which is why I do not think those deals are particularly good if you do not need them in a hurry.

I think this i5 Probook 450 for £300 is good price, simply it is a Probook. They are good quality.

Not only looks better, 450 G2 is a business laptop, it is higher than 250 G4 which is a consumer laptop even when their specifications are the same.

Its build quality and components used are better.

Although it is true the 450 G2 is better than the 250 G4 they are both coming consumer laptops hence they coming with Windows 10 Home rather than Pro.

This particular model comes with Windows 10 Home edition.

If all build and components are the same as the other ones which come with Windows 7 or Windows 10 Professional, the laptop is still business quality laptop.

The downgrade in Windows system is reflected in the lower price.

My office Probook always come with Windows 7 Professional and we wipe and freshly install Windows 7 Enterprise version.

So which version of Windows do not matter to me, as long as the underline build quality and components used are the same.

I have not used any ProBook comes with Windows 10 Home.

If anyone has one, can anyone get a hardware report from AIDA64? So we can tell if those ones still using the same quality of components. A specification list from website is not detailed enough to determine.

To be fair, they have been offline since their post. For a laptop like that though and at that price it has to be ex-demo or have been some sort of localised, mispriced deal and not a fair comparison. I agree though, the screen at best can only be described as indifferent.
Why is this expired? Still in stock?

I found the particular one he bought.

It was a refurbished from Currys. See link below.
    hotukdeals.com/dea…712

It is still very hot for the price despite been refurbished.

But that kind of deal is one off, should not be used to judge any brand new which is available in large quantity.

Great spot, I looked but didn't see it. As suspected, it is not brand new. Looking on the PC World website you have to laugh:

What is a refurbished laptop/desktop?Each laptop and desktop is … What is a refurbished laptop/desktop?Each laptop and desktop is refurbished to a high standard at our in-house repair centre. They are tested, checked, and tested again by one of our experts so you can enjoy your new computer with confidence.

I have personally witnessed one of their "experts" in action. They examined a laptop I was interested in that had had a slide in battery put in the wrong way round and had got wedged. They tried to prise it out with a screwdriver then took to holding the laptop with both hands and whacking it repeatedly side on against their knee to get the battery back out. Which it did, crashing onto the floor.

They then brought the laptop and battery out to me with a smile and deluded expectation that I would still buy it. No thanks.

I got it back in June from Curry's online at a steal. It's the j151sa model. I'm not sure they make this model anymore which is why it was so cheap

Have you ever heard of sleep? It was nearly midnight and I went to bed if that's ok with you? I got it back in June from Currys/PC World. It's the J151SA model which I don't think they make anymore. I never said I got it recently. I just stated that it was possible to get this spec or better with FHD screen without paying an extra £200

I didn't judge. I said it was a good deal. There was a comment that stated that a laptop of the same spec as this would cost £100-200 extra just for the FHD screen.

Got mine today. Build seems pretty high quality. Keyboard and touchpad ok. Screen, although not 1080p, still seems pretty good.
