Another HP business laptop. Good quality.

Lastest gen i3-6100U, quite powerful for an i3 U version. Score higher than i5-5200u is to my surprise.

Integrated HD Graphics 520 GPU is quite good for an integrated. I have read somewhere it is better than AMD Radeon R6. I could be wrong.

4GB RAM is small, but cheap and easy to upgrade.

The screen is non-FHD.

128GB M.2 SATA SSD is using the M.2 slot. It has been confirmed that you can put in a 2.5 inch HDD for storage.

Win 7 Pro is a plus too.

Pay £350 upfront. can claim 125 + 50 cashback. If all sucessful, work out £175. See reply 1 for cashback details.

Credit to roaspaan35 for bring the deal to my attention.

There is a free SATA connector, you can buy a 2TB 2.5 inch HDD for around £50 and put in for storage. You can have both 128GB SSD and 2TB HDD at the same time.

Model number is 450 G3 - P5T14ET
Individual end users can claim both cashbacks on one laptop. It has always been the case in the past. HP never ask a question.

I posted the G2 version a while back. There is some good tips on upgrading the laptop on that posting:

Do you have to purchase direct from HP in order to claim the various cash back offers as it is cheaper elsewhere. thanks
I thought trade up was for only business users or can anyone claim it ??

good catch

2.The promotion is open to businesses or organisations operating in mainland UK and Northern Ireland only. This offer is not open to employees of HP (HP), their agents, wholesalers, resellers, retail staff, retailers, participating stockists or anyone connected with the promotion. Claims must be submitted by the end user customer only. Resellers may not submit claims on behalf of their customers.
Is it definitely a G3? I'm looking at the site and it says the G3 is £500, while this link has no G3 label on it
It says "Purchases must be made between 24th November 2015 and 29th February 2016" in the how it works section. Anyone claimed it for a March purchase?

I see the trade-in cashback terms were better at the time of your post. Then, you could trade-in any old XP machine of any age. If I could do that now I'd be going for this new deal.

No, you can buy from anyone, unless the cashback page states from particular seller. I have seen cashback only available to purchases from ebuyer.

This models does not limit to any seller. So should be fine to purchase from elsewhere.

Make sure the mode is exactly right as 450 G3 - P5T14ET.

individual end user can claim HP cashbacks.

Many of us have done it in the past year.

Dabs contacted HP last year and confirmed individual end users can claim.

P5T14ET is G3.

It is also clearly stated on the cashback page.

I am not aware 450 G2 has i3 6th gen. i3 6th gen should be G3.

I sent them a really old Dell XP Desktop which was ancient, picked it up from Gumtree for a fiver......
Wow, that's just what I want to do, but how did you get round the fact the Dell desktop isn't on the qualifying products list? I need to be absolutely confident of getting the cashback before I go for it.
Probooks are really top computers, love mine.

Just looking terms seems you can have double discount.

"This offer may not be combined with any other promotion."

so it's either trade in or the £50.

The qualifying products are the computers you have to purchase, the trade up computer can be any brand.

If you send an old XP computer, it must have the original Windows XP sticker on the desktop box.

This Elitebook is nice too. It is only let down by underpowered A6. It may be ok for some day-to-day tasks.

This new probook i3 is more than twice powerful than the A6, much more capable, plus integrated HD Graphics 520 GPU is more powerful.

The Elitebook has 900 resolution is a plus. Is the Elitebook cashback still available?

A lot people seem have questions about cashback. I give a little summary below hope to clear things up. They are from last time I read it. I have not re-read, please double check and let me know if anything changed.

£50 cashback.
Straight cash, not string attached. Apply 30 days from invoice date.
HP need to know two things, how much you paid for, and confirmation of model no: 450 G3 - P5T14ET.
They need to a scan of your invoice when you apply. If 450 G3 - P5T14ET is not on invoice, you will need to upload a photo of the sticker on the box showing 450 G3 - P5T14ET as well.

£125 trade-up cashback
Apply straight away after you got your invoice.
There is no brand restriction. You can give HP your old device in whatever brands.
If you are claiming as individual end user, answer as follows:
Are you a UK VAT registered business? answer No.
Customer Type, answer "Small Business (1-10 staff)".

The conditions are:

1. Trade-in device must be fully working conditions. Any part not working, HP will take money off.
2. Tablet not less than 9 inch, laptop not less than 10 inch.

3. If you trade in PC/laptop originally comes with Win XP, no age restriction.
If you trade in PC/laptop originally comes with system other than XP, no more than 6 years old.

Cheapest way, you have an old one not needed.

The next is by a xp laptop off ebay for £20-30, a lot work because you have to make sure everything is fully function (battery etc).

The easiest way if you do not have an old device, is to buy a 9 inch tablet for less than £50, you only need to make sure the tablet is fully working. 2nd hand cheap ones especially those from China, or Nook HD+ from CeX.

Ignore the HP pavillion at £300, the other business laptops are so much better.

CPU: I expect the A10 should be slightly more powerful, not a lot.

GPU: Not sure, both are quite good for integrated, have not seen direct comparision, I have only seen compare to A8 R6 and HD Graphics 520 is better.

Memory: A10 has 8GB, this one has 4GB. Memory can be upgraded easily and cheaply. My suggestion is do not put too much emphasis on memory when come to computer if it can be upgraded. (There are some laptops has RAM soldered to the motherboard.)

There are some models put in 16GB RAM unnecessarily, and ask for lot of money. And people see 16GB RAM and thought it is high end and just jump on the deal. It is a mis-perception by a lot of people.

Battery: i3 should have more than 7 hours, A10 is 3 hours.

Price: i3 is very good if you get all cashbacks.

Storage: The A10 only has a SATA, it comes with 1TB HDD. If you want SSD, the HDD needs to come out.
The i3 has 128GB M.2 SATA SSD, the M.2 SSD is more expensive than 1TB HDD. You might be able to put in a 2.5 inch HDD for storage if there is a free SATA connector. I do not have conformation of this yet.

If I am to choose from those two, I would go for the i3. I always got all HP cashbacks, never had problem. Good battery, fast M.2 SSD, powerful too, option to expand storage (let's hope), and cheap.

If you can get all cashbacks, you really cannot get anything better for £175. Even you only get it to £300, I still think it is very good consider i5-5200u with HDD is £330.

Certainly this i3. As this i3 is quite powerful, it is directly comparable to i5-5200u.

250 is HP consumer laptop, they are bad bad quality.

You will notice the quality from the first touch. It is not something you only imagine. And HP consumer laptops do not last from what people told me.

Besides the specs is similar to this one, I do not know if the 250 G4 qualify for cashback because I cannot tell the exact model.

You get better laptop for cheaper with 450 G3.
