cool deal if you have a old laptop to trade in with..

Your "old PC" must be less than 4 years old.

damn good deal if you don't. I have a 17", i3 HP laptop with similar chasis and casing (albeit more powerful) and it's very well finished. Excellent battery life. Nice screen. £300 is a great price.

am I right in thinking if you buy this and trade in your old laptop it works out just over £150?!!!!

I'm not sure that this particular laptop qualifies for the cashback?!?! Damn good deal if it does tho.....off to have a good read of terms and conditions....

it would seem so, and therefore a top deal. I have a 3 year old Acer which qualifies for the £150 trade in.

where have you got that from? if you go to pc-offers4u.com/ link on the website it just asks if its more or less than 2 years old?

Just had a look at the qualifying laptops and sure enough it's listed!
'HP Probook S 4510s PDC VQ721EA'

doesn't say what the processor speed is - anyone see something I can't?

Scroll? What is this scroll thing you speak of?

They say they'll contribute £10 towards the postage of your old laptop. Anybody know how this works? I've tried that scrolling trick without an answer

Thanks for that.

So you can use a laptop or a desktop under 4 years to get the £150 rebate......is that correct ?????

Eh, this looks like a fab deal. Seems you can send them pretty much any unit [working] as I can't see anything about 4 years. They don't ask for a copy of the receipt either (for your trade-in machine).

I have an old 160GB Dell 8400 (February 2005) base doing absolutely nothing but collect dust.

Hmmm.

While it says four years on the IT247 site it is true that this is not mentioned on the claim site as far as I can tell.

it mentions minimum £150. anyone know what qualifies for more than £150 off?

I just checked several combos of brands under 2 years and they all came up at £150 on the calculator, so I wouldn't expect any more

"FREE WIFI access" worth £300 just for that i recon!! (_;)

if it's a dell, check the service tag on their warranty status page

top deal..i have acer 5530 series...150 more for hp...

by the way,they say MINIMUM....

This is crazy hot. Great laptop - not the best constructed thing in the world but with a Probook you get onsite warranty. The hard drive is a bit of a pain to get to! We supply one particular company with these all the time so we'll be ordered some for stock!

This promotion is only open and applicable to the purchase of specific qualifying products and therefore shown on the product purchase invoice. One part exchange per qualifying product purchased only will be accepted.
The offer is not transferrable to another individual or business, claims will only be accepted by the original purchaser.
If a claim is refused, because the Terms of the offer have not been met, the promoter's decision is final. Hewlett-Packard reserve the right to withdraw the promotion without notice.

I think it's suggesting you need proof of purchase of this new laptop (a copy of the invoice)

The proof of purchase surely refers to proof of purchase of the HP computer?

Actually on second thoughts I think liddle is right. No. 2 already mentions the invoice for the new computer and the proof of purchase of the trade-in is probably to prevent a whole load of stolen laptops being traded in.

no, not sure. tried ringing just now to confirm but engaged. will try again

The terms and conditions are phrased differently - this refers to proof of purchase of the new HP. BUT the conditions of the old laptop are fairly draconian - even the battery must be "fully functional"

This cahsback is run by Opia. They are really slow at paying out the money. I have traded in two computers and so has a mate. They had to threaten trading standards to get a cheque. I got one cheque for 150 quid plus delivery back but am still waiting for the second - they've had the second computer since 2nd June. They promise to pay but it takes an eternity for it to come back despite promises. Do not believe the timescales for getting your money back. Buyer beware.
