I like it BUT at 45w CPU still too warm ... def the right idea imo (laptop CPU in a desktop case).
Not sure you couldnt put this together for about the same or less tho
Could have a nice ryzen pc with a decent graphics card for this price

I need a new desktop, interested in your suggestions. It's for my elderly mother but want a system that will last a few years. Is graphics resolution important for her poor eyesight if we need to zoom?

No it isn't. It also wouldn't be this physical size. This is a very small design and you usually pay a large premium for it. This is a good deal.

It doesn't sound like you are comfortable building PCs so something like this would be ideal, it will comfortably output 1080p+ desktop resolutions. For your mother's ailing eyesight it would be a good idea to turn up the scaling in Windows 10 to something like 125-150% to make text easier to read.

If you don't already have a monitor it might be more cost-effective to look at an AIO (all-in-one) option.
CPU stats looking pretty good for the price - ideal for any small businesses looking for office PC replacements

But many laptop CPUs are 45W! With decent cooling this shouldn't be an issue. T series are popular for AllinOnes and mini PCs.
iM looking for cpu max output max max) 25w and much prefer 15w /9w .. My flat gets too heated and if I leave the windows open (shock);)(strong)
Actually total system heat output 20-25w
I use one of these at work, running Office apps. No issues, recommended if you just need it for similar tasks
