This is back in stock and only £97 after the HP cashback.

I think its as low as you will get it now everyone knows HP are doing the cashback.

Ordered mine from here and it arrived next day by courier.

Price as of 9.55am is £204.99 but as stated below by other users this is still cheaper than the Ebuyer price of £209.99. Obviously £100 HP cashback to be taken off these prices.

here we go again X)

What's the average power consumption?

I got mine when they were £89.99.
Box.co.uk were great they dispatched in just over 1 hour and it was at my door the next morning.
I emailed my forms to the claims company and within about 4 hours my claim was verified and the cheque should be in the post email received.

So far I'm enjoying mine, even if samba/linux file permissions is causing a little bit of a headache.

Great deal for a cool 98 bones.

The HP logo can be sandpapered out probably.

About 40w OOB obviously increases if you add more drives.

Got mine nearly a year ago with the £110 cashback deal. Still loving it, great bit of kit. Definitely needs an upgrade to the RAM, but its cheap enough, think I paid £20ish for 8Gb. Its running Windows Server 2012 brilliantly.

didn't bother upgrading the RAM on mine and does everything I need on WHS 2011 just fine

Just ordered! Heat added.

Looks like this is as good as it's going to get, now that everyone is putting the prices up to make some extra money off it (looking at you, ebuyer)

Voted hot, but you've got to wonder if there is anyone left who is interested in this who hasn't already bought one! Very good product/value btw.

Anyone know if this thing can run esxi 5.1? After a RAM upgrade of course..

got to say its a brilliant deal i was fortunate to get it when it was 185 and get the 100 cashback, im loving getting my geek on, girlfriend is so turned at watching me hash this server into action...

Decent deal, managed to get mine for about 89 after cashback, takes around 4-8 weeks for the cheque mind.

Uses next to no power at all, use it as a nicer way to access my TFS server from work.

Fill in the HP cashback form, attach your invoice and e-mail it to that address.

Im sorry for being a bit think but is esxi like virtual machines VMware/Virtual box only it runs on servers instead.

If you want to use one of these awesome servers for media collections, the following items will help play/stream 1080p mkv's perfectly:

Either 6450 or this unit will work fine for you: amazon.co.uk/Sap…CO/
Coupled with a 4GB RAM stick: amazon.co.uk/Cor…2O/
If you want optical/headphone out: amazon.co.uk/gp/…X4/
If you want to mount a fifth drive: amazon.co.uk/gp/…9W/
SATA cables required for above: amazon.co.uk/gp/…1PG
Freeview HD TV tuner: amazon.co.uk/Hau…WC/
If you want WIFI with router in same room: amazon.co.uk/Edi…OY/
If you want WIFI with router in another room: amazon.co.uk/TP-…HE/
If you want WIFI with router downstairs: amazon.co.uk/TP-…3Q/

You can then select what OS you want. Running Windows 7 on mine with WMC and Plex. Some prefer XBMC.

Yesish. Note that there's no local user interface to the guest VMs at all.

Nice. Thanks

Hi guys, how easy are these to setup? I'd like to use this as back up for my docs/pics while also streaming to Xbox 360

Don't know much about XBMC and plex etc...any help?

Cheers

Highly unlikely. That's a full size PCIe card which will be too tall. Needs to be half-height only.

It will take 16gb - I have it in mine - but stick with the more expensive ECC stuff. Got some from ebuyer for about £110. Runs hyperv and several VMs a treat.

First thing I did with mine was try this. Installed Win7, win2k8r2 and FC17 all at the same time with 8GB on board. All three consoles were really responsive and all the shells ran really well.

Having said that, I've probably spent as much on mine (SSDs, memory and the like) I could have bought a 'proper' server off ebay for the same money... ah well...

Is plex free to use?

Raid? I am guessing that a NAS would be better if just using as a server / storage centre?
