Just ordered the Huawei, do you think it’s better than this?

Key differences:
- Huawei is smaller (14" vs 15.6")
- Huawei is lighter (1.38kg vs 1.74kg)
- Huawei has a worse processor (3500u is roughly equivalent to an Intel i5, rather than the 3700u on this, which is roughly equivalent to a Intel i7)
- Huawei has half the ram (8gb vs 16gb)

So if you want the most powerful machine, pick this. If you want a lighter/slimmer machine pick the Huawei. Personally I'd go for the Huawei - it's more than powerful enough even for light gaming and the extra power on this doesn't offset the extra size/weight imo. But you certainly can't wrong with either and it's horses for courses.

Ooof that's a big tempter!
Thats a lot for the price Hot.
Good spec for the money! Personally I'd go for the Huawei Matebook D for this money and get something a little small and lighter, but if you need something more powerful this is a great option. Hot!
Any good for video editing?
ordered, thanks. First Costco purchase, how long do they normally take to arrive (as in are delivery estimates reliable)

Ordered, thanks OP - been looking for a week or two and this is pretty much the type of spec I’ve been after and in my budget
Does anyone know about DIY upgrading the ram or SSD on this?
What would this be like for light gaming, football manager etc

No able to compare but have two G6’s in the business and they are fine.
Is the display as sharp as you'd find with a lenovo s540?
are these available in store at all?
Is this any good for photo editing using programmes such as Capture One or Lightroom?

Check what the requirements are for the programmes, and compare it too the spec of the laptop.

Thank you, I will
My order still says "processing" so beginning to wonder if they had any! Arrived yesterday in a cardboard box so stored for 24 hours. Screen is non reflective so my wife is still getting used to the flatter look. Had a Lenovo ideapad 300, says the screen is that standard. Got very hot and froze in the first hour of use and it wasnt being used for gaming, just Facebook. Not overly impressed so far.

It’s a good machine but I agree - the fan kicks in when not much is going on and is quite noisy!

Decided it was probably faulty and sent it back. The fan was clearly working as you could hear it but the base was getting noticeably warm.
