This is by far the cheapest it has been. It hit 309° last month, and that was when it was £279!

You need to use the following e-voucher to get it for £189: 10PRNTVCQ2

I think I'll pick one of these up for the kitchen!

oh I'm tempted, soooooo tempted at this price.
BUT .....

my current 10" tablet is just so comfortable on my lap/propped up on the duvet when snuggled up in bed. Is 21.5" just a bit too big for a tablet?
I mean, I have a 24" screen on my desktop PC. If I need that much screen space I sit down at my desk and do whatever it is there.

Great tho for someone who doesn't have/need a PC. I can see this having a place in a studio flat where it does the job of computer/tv/dvd player all in one.

Does the code work on anything else?

Also, 3% Quidco, 5.25 TCB

It's not really designed as a tablet, more like a sort of TV / Computer hybrid it seems. Most people say they have one in the kitchen for music, videos, apps etc when I looked at reviews

this is not a TABLET - be aware this has no internal battery so its not moveable like a tablet should be, its an all in one with the Slate moniker but its not a TABLET - therefore although its cheap its just not what im loking for, heat though!

Just a note on this... I had one for a bit to experiment with interactive shop displays..

Its a little laggy
8gb onboard storage is small, was fine for my use but after android and a few apps you have very little left..
touch screen isn't as good as on tablets..

But cheap as chips...

We ended up going for XPS 18 for our needs which are nearly 3 times this price!!

Great price if it only had a hdmi input to use as a monitor

Banned

At ~5kg I don't consider this a tablet. Not even laptops are this heavy. If you're always going to use it on a table you might as well get a desktop with a proper OS.

The slate 21 pro should be out soon which has double the storage and ram and hdmi input with USB upstream so you could plug in a windows 8 desktop and use it as a touch screen

Not a tablet because no battery to support.

Beside such big device comes with 1GB ROM and 8GB internal memory - so shame. Processor and big screen is its selling point. So, this can not be all in one theme

Just get a power bank lol

Great find op. Heat

Thinking about using one of these for home for the kids but the realised its got no flash support being android so will come up with problems on certain pages

Will definitely pick up a Slate Pro aslong as we don't get shafted by the exchange rate - its $399 over the pond...

certain browsers still support/work around flash on android, and i think you can side load the support from the adobe site, i can't remember which browsers they are off the top of my head i'm sure if you google it it should come up with a few.

I echo that, I thought this did but it's the Acer equivalent that has that feature but that's £285 on amazon and isn't in white.

I wish more monitor manufactures would offer a white variation along with black as for some white is just so much better

in fact here you go:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boatbrowser.free&hl=en_GB

Boat Browser also supplies some very useful features like,
- Video & Flash Video & YouTube Video Support… (In Android 4.4 plus flash doesn't work on some devices)

anyone seen any good deals for the envy x2 11.6

oh no..........VERY TEMPTED...........don't really need it, but I want it........

Looks amazing at first glance, but horrendous reviews. It sounds as though Android isn't ready for this size screen at this time, its memory's too small and many leading apps are incompatible anyway. pcmag.com/art…asp

anyone seen any good deals for the envy x2 11.6

Which variant/spec ?

Was thinking this looked quite good, but then read this review.

The review at The Register actually said they quite liked it. If it had been released a this price point I very much doubt the negative reviews would have been anywhere as negative as they ended up being.

Was on the verge of buying a large-ish picture frame but having seen this, I've just ordered. Thanks OP.

Looks like they reviewed it as a computer rather than a tablet which it really is.

i really really want this and at this price I don't know why I haven't bought it. I guess I don't need it... but it looks so useful if I had a use for it lol

Cheap monitor, K400 KB/track, Android powered quad core smart stick, done. Better, cheaper. No touchscreen? O NOES!

Shame theres no HDMI or VGA output as I would of bought this in an instant... I probably will still buy this, just not in an instant...

Can I connect this with the large hard drive. What about NAS drive?

USB pendrives and drives in enclosures are fine with this. NAS devices are too with the right app installed.

Good deal thanx op

After checking Curry's site they are currently selling the Pentium model for £429 and based on a quick Google it out performs the celeron on "benchmarks" at around 1000 vs 1700 even though based on only 3 or 4 samples the extra £30 is really worth paying IMO over the celeron at £399 at John Lewis. After seeing the one you linked me to is the Atom which benchmarks at around 680 (They only have 1 example though) It looks like the Pentium is the better choice all be it there are so many variants across retailers and both others are the full black models.

Interesting ....... Sorry I couldn't help you in the end I've been looking at them myself which is why I asked to begin with
