Seems like a possible alternative to a surface pro. My daughter has a surface pro 4 and this seems to be roughly equivalent in most respects.

This sounds like a good price to me (compared to normal pricing if you want a flexible and portable device like this)

The 2017 surface pro has better battery life and is able to detect more differences in pen pressure. There may be other differences that I can't remember now!

Price includes keyboard and pen.

Use code CLEAR400 to get this price and choose bundle to get 3 year care pack.

  • Windows 10 Home 64
  • Intel® Core™ i7-7560U (2.4 GHz base frequency, up to 3.8 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 4 MB cache, 2 cores)
  • 31.2 cm (12.3") diagonal 3K2K (3000 x 2000) IPS multitouch-enabled edge-to-edge glass display
  • 8GB RAM with 512GB PCIe® SSD storage
  • Includes: Keyboard; Active stylus; Windows Hello Webcam; Sleeve; USB Type-C™ to USB 3.0 adapter

Apologies if I have not posted this right - it's been a while. I guess there is a new model on the way.

At this kind of price is the care pack for you or the laptop? Specs look good though.

To be honest, for students, this is legendary. If I had this at university (and I wasn't stupid enough to overlook the effectiveness of Pen+Tablet Mode) I'd of paid this and then some. Multicoloured notes with no mistakes, priceless.

I agree with you to be honest but the form factor seems to involve quite a price premium. The equivalent surface pro with pen and keyboard would be close to 2k from memory.

Sorry for being vague I was looking into this a couple of months ago when the SP4 started suffering a flickering screen.

At this price I would consider the i7 I couldn't/didn't want to afford the i7 surface. I wouldn't call it cheap but it is a competitive price in the market unfortunately.

    Even better!
Not a fan of hp but with the 3 year care plan, this looks like excellent value for money
Was Temped but some reviews suggest around 4 hours battery life and some lagging, as well as getting hot and the fan always on.

Anyone used this laptop before and can give some feedback on all-round performance ?
I am using one, although it’s a better one, i7 8th generation and Nvidia mX150. It’s good, sometimes the fan could be loud, it’s not on all the time. Only when you have loads of apps running, that’s when it starts to spin the fan. Last night I had about 10 folders opened, files all over the place, net beans, eclipse and dream weaver, outlook and a few Mozilla tabs. It was fine. One thing I did though, day 1. Formatted and installed with my choices and software, plus a small system optimisation. Running win 10 pro on it and it flies ....
After much deliberation over 2in1s these last few months I've gone with this deal. Ticks my needs.. If you don't mind sinless can you provide a bit more on the reformat and key s/w choices. Also love to know your system optimisation.
You'd think that IT companies would avoid naming their products after the biggest exploits of the century...

Formatting is dead easy. All you need is windows 10 on a stick (easily done), the drivers from HP site and you’re ready to go. The windows key is hardware related now, so once you install win10 and you connect to the internet is going to activate all buy itself.
Software, from HP, I only have the drivers which is more than ok. Third parties, I have all the adobe suite , netbeans, eclipse and so much more. Browser, I only use Firefox.
System optimisation is “playing” with the path for temporary folders, the way it handles the memory and so on.
No antivirus !!! Absolutely no antivirus, as all of them slow system down. I only use the windows one(defender) and I’ve always been fine. And I go on dodgy sites, but I am careful with the content that lies on my computer.
    That’s all.
If you want to optimise your win 10, there is great site (somehow forgot it’s name , but google it and it should come up within the 3-4 result) .
The optimisation that I am talking about is the same I was using on win xp and I’ve done it in all the computers that I have installed or repaired so far. Hope it helps!!!
