Was looking for a work laptop that had a touch screen and had stylus support, with good build quality. this is a full alloy chassis!

Did some research and found the hp xp spectre fitted the bill as it was developed closely with microsoft its meant to perform really good.

though its not advertised by HP but the spectres support active stylus's such as "dell 750-AAGN" with no drivers needed... making it very cheap compared to the surface pro 4...

This is the FHD (1080P) version there is a QHD version but there have been reports it impacts the battery life... FHD is enough for me..

Only weaker point is it would be nice to have 8gb ram instead of 4gb.. I think the ram is soldiered on to the board... still need to confirm 100%

there are cheaper laptop but not many with this build and style!

Good price for the touchscreen version. If you want 8GB RAM and i7 CPU with 4k screen (not touch) this is a good option for not a lot more:

Believe me when I say you don't need touch screen for laptops...it's an added bonus if it's there for no extra price

donslibi link is more for your buck now that's the extra money you can put towards

Good price for that particular model. Also worth a look are the Toshiba Radius range. Same convertible design and very similar specs.
Just got an A1 refurb for the missus reduced to £480 and she's well chuffed with it!

How can you say you don't need touch screen? If the OP needs it then he needs it.
Anyone know if extra ram can be added and if so what's the max it can take?

Toshiba Satellite Radius laptops have capacitive touchscreens, so any capacitive stylus pen should work just fine.
