Just picked up the above machine in store at my local Costco. Comes with their 2 year warranty.

The cheapest I could find it elsewhere is almost £200 more.

theres a new spectre x360 just been announced

As above, a new one has just been announced that's smaller, lighter, has a better processor, has better graphics, is faster charging, has a bigger battery, has a faster SSD, has USB-C, the list goes on. If I were you, I'd return the current unit and hold tight for a couple of weeks for the new one for very similar money!

It's a good price as it stands for the model but really recommend anyone who's after one to consider what above posters said. I bought the 5th gen version of this model for this price with a 3 year carepack from HP Store a few weeks before the 6th gen model was released (I wasn't aware of this at the time). I think the only difference is the processor itself, where there seems to be actual physical improvements coming to the 7th gen model.

There's always another model just around the corner. This is a good price for what you get and the new model will be more expensive. This is obviously reduced as end of line, and the new models nearly always come in at slightly more than the previous one before discount. With the £ continuing to drop through the floor, it's likely that new models will be even more expensive, while existing stock can be sold off cheaper.

While I agree that with most things it's daft to say "wait for the new one", but in this case the new one was formally announced for release days before, not rumoured. The US equivalent model is $1299, which is just over £1000. If the new model comes in at the same RRP as this (£1199), considering how pretty much every aspect of the product has been improved, it would be crazy to spend over £1000 on a machine that is now old news.

It's already out in the states, it seems HP is trying to shift all the old stock in the UK first which is a poor move. Product can be found here http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/Laptops/hp-spectre-x360---13-w063nr-x7v22ua-aba

TechRadar has a review of the new unit here techradar.com/rev…016 showing just how different the new model is compared to the old.
