It SOUNDS cheap. But then the spec reflects the price : Intel Celeron processor, 2GB ram and 32GB memory.
Yes its touch screen with windows 8.1 upgradable to windows 10 but you can get much better faster spec in a mobile phone.
Sadly not for me. Not voted cold but others will do i suspect

Still over priced for the spec for my liking. I got a hp probook 450 for less than this after cashback with i3 processor

Thanks... More than adequate for a 13" screen. The fact that a QHD res was on the Dell XPS13 just about stopped me from buying under the influence of alcohol last week saving me a grand + the cost of some binoculars!

Going through uni days it's £195. obviously for students only

When will people get it that he simply puts an information about the resolution on every bloody laptop post, he puts 1920*1080 as well. He is helping everyone by finding and adding a useful information to the post, making no judgement if it is low or high...

I find this nothing but commendable, it is sometime pain in the ass to find this spec and most posters here don't bother.

Thanks Benjamin.

Also I don't see the point of the binoculars comment, maybe 5 years ago windows sucked balls at high resolution displays but it does, with some tweaking, works a charm now just Google it.

It is as if you claim that using a qhd smartphone will require glasses, it doesn't because Android scales well (and Apple is mostly low res anyway), Windows was really bad at this, but it is not as bad anymore...

Hang on a bit... All I did was tip my hat and add a comment. Did you read the first word I wrote? Thanks is a word that once belonged to gratitude and as it's rarely used these days is often mistaken for sarcasm...
Regarding the binoculars, that was merely a bit of japery at my own expense.

Quite tempted by one of these but not sure whether to go for the touchscreen model or the datapass model. Not sure how often I'd use the touchscreen and the datapass would be useful when I need to do something in a non wifi/broadband area. However presumably I could tether it to my phone. My contract allows tethering.

Nice laptop, not to big to carry around and not to small were windows scaling becomes hard to read or use. the specs are good enough for what most people use a laptop for. Myself i find using laptop track-pads a pain at times so the touch screen is very useful for when using a mouse is not possible. Im having that

Bought one from Argos today and upgraded instantly to Windows 10. I have to say, it's really quite slow. If it had 4GB RAM then that would improve things.

Internet browsing is fine, but as soon as you start delving into the system to tweak things and opening up different windows, it grinds to a halt. I'll be returning it tomorrow.

I would just like to ask how you upgraded to windows 10?

It had a "free upgrade to Windows 10" when I first started it up, so I clicked that and it downloaded the files and started to install it. I was expecting it to be a lot of hassle given what I've read but it was as smooth as smooth could be.

And no issues with not enough space ?

The recovery drive is 450MB and Windows 10 is 20GB~, so you're left with just under 10GB. Not a problem if you're utilising the OneDrive/Dropbox/Google Drive, which is kinda the point really.

No issue with running out of room whilst upgrading, it just sailed through it.

If you're happy with the rest of it, why not just add RAM, or are there other negative factors? I'm asking because I'm was thinking of getting one as a gift for someone, and already have a spare 4Gb stick of RAM.

Can you add RAM to it? Crucial Memory's scanner came up blank.

I am almost sure you can not upgrade the RAM but 2GB of RAM is ok for normal use.
