Hot. Good price considering that it is brand new.

20-odd already sold today.

Why isn't this hot ? (_;)

I reckon this is the best sub £200 tablet out there, if you weren't lucky enough to pick one of the firesale priced touchpads this isn't a bad price, i have seen them go for less in auctions though. I've got android on mine and it works a charm, overclocked it's smooth as butter.

Jackio, are you using the CM7 alpha builds? So do you not experience any issues with standby etc? I'm cannot wait to put android on my touchpad, just havet been following the progress so far!

Yeah, i'm using the latest (3rd?) build, and it works fine, occasionally I need to turn wifi on and off a couple of times after standby but that's easily fixed with a widget. It dual boots anyway so you don't lose WebOS, you can simply reset to boot into either OS.

£200 any you get an unstable hacked up version of android ... £250 - 300 at todays prices and you get it all ... the touchpad is ok at circa £100 at £200 its a very poor buy IMHO

I think the biggest problem is everyone knows the supplier probably bought these for £115. This might be the best price now but it just annoys to give someone £80 for access to them at firesale price.

As for "luck" in getting them at firesale price, the number of sellers with large stocks suggests "luck" had nothing to do with it. Bitter? Me? Yes?

Curious as to why my previous comment went to moderation queue. Have I been bad? Or do HP Touchpad postings have special moderation needs? (_;)

Edit: "previous post" hasn't appeared here yet. Curiouser and curiouser.

The voting system on this site really needs an overhaul. This should be hot.

Trust me, I have one (bought for £109 during the recent fire sale). In no way is it worth £199. Not in a decade of Sundays. It is good value at £100...

But the operating system is now dead at the hands of HP (no more development and, accordingly, very, very, very few apps). And the specifications (processor, etc) come nowhere near those of the modern two-core Android tablets.

Don't get me wrong. I love my Touchpad (at £109). But I would not send a toddler on a man's mission.

I suggest you read link below re processor specs (and remember touchpad is under clocked at 1.2GHz its design speed is 1.5GHz and will run at 1.7GHz without issue + the Adreno 220 Graphics makes it superior to the Tegra 2 found in most Android pads)

WHAT!? it is worth £200, but they arent worth £400ish no tablet is - i sold an HP refurbed 16gb one for £194 and 2 new ones 16gb £220 and 32gb £230 so £199 is pretty good

is it ok to put android on now? been waiting and then got a sammy galaxy tab which is great but the touchpad is miles better in everything except supported os, size, weight and 3g/gps

I love my £89 firesale TP but wouldn't advise you spend £200 on one - you’d be better off spending a little more and getting an Android tab or refurb iPad.

For a 32GB tablet from a decent company like HP with webOS (the best tablet OS out there IMHO) this is a bargin. We need to forget Firesale prices. Compared with some of the £100-£200 tablet crap out there this is a hot deal.

The only hesitation I would have is maybe waiting for the Amazon Fire.

Bargin. Doctor Mantis tabargin.

please help what are fire sales and is this a good deal or not

Fire sales are when the product has been discontinued or they have too much stock so they sell the product at cost or less to sell the units and recover any lost money.

312 sold. All gone.
