Be careful with these, if you have wide eyes you may have problems adjusting the IPD to suit. The software adjustment range is limited. Good price though

Good price but personally going to wait for more support.

I got one of these for £260 as new in the Warehouse with the 20% sale, it's really early days on the software and setting it up on two different machines was a real struggle - mainly getting the headset to be recognised by windows. The controllers are very haphazard as well especially when using Steam, even if they work in the Windows MR portal they often are not recognised when I switch to a Steam VR game. I'm sure a lot of the problems will be solved with updates as they seem to be software related, but I'm tempted to return it and wait for version 2.

Wait a little longer and they'll be free inside corn flakes. Big Big fail from microsoft.

Either I'm being stupid here, or I've picked you up wrong - but they're HP branded. Not Microsoft.

They are made to Microsoft's specification very much like "reference edition" graphics cards. The Windows Mixed Reality platform is managed by Microsoft.

There are 6 manufacturers of WMR headsets: Acer, Dell, Lenovo, HP, Asus and Samsung. There are all built to the same specifications with only subtle differences (Asus use a single large screen, Samsung use a higher resolution OLED screen, HP has a detachable cable).

Too early to tell if this is a fail. At worst Roy will drive down the cost of VR through competition which is good for everyone (except oculus and HTC).
Steam support has only been available for a week so it will no doubt have teething problems to start with.
I’m looking for the next gen myself due to low resolutions..... alternatively I’m hoping that the forthcoming PiMax “8k” will be as good as it could be (mad cheap).

I have one of these that im going to sell....

I'd agree with that, despite the problems I've had when it's working well (which is most of the time) it's an impressive bit of kit for a first attempt. In a few months time after some updates and with more content it may well start to take off in a more mainstream way, however I think the price needs to drop to £199 for a bundle with some games before that will really happen. Minecraft may well end up being the killer app for mixed reality, my son is getting a little old for Minecraft but he was blown away by it in VR, I can imagine a lot of kids asking for a headset next Christmas just to play it.

It's the Windows 10 version that has VR built in, the one in the Windows store not the java version.
