HP recommends that you place the transmitter no more than 16 feet (5 meters) away from the receiver.

was tempted! room to room connection... 5 meters isnt far! Wouldn't it be more cost effective just to plug the HDMI straight from TV to Laptop? if it is less than 5m away? (serious question!)

However.. this is a top price! good find!! heat added

Yes, I would just use a cable for the 5m.
I have a 7.5m cable on mine and it works great

Also at £85 your not far off the price of certain htpc solutions.

Don't need one but a cracking price for this particular item.

This price is by far the cheapest compared to all other websites selling it... It's a great deal for those that choose to have this system to connect wirelessly.

Or a cheaper method to achieve same goal ...

I have just bought it as my Mrs keeps unplugging my PS3 to connect her laptop even though I have a specific HDMI cable for her to use. Call it revenge, she has actually just paid for it.

I would stick with wired personally, But then I already have an hdmi cable that's at least 5m, that I use with a lightening to hdmi adapter for the iPad.

Code no longer valid on this item. Hopefully I will receive it still.
