1750 deposit every month is killing the deal for people looking for free money.

I done this last august and even though its long winded i.e you have to do the switch in brance or on the phone once you've been accepted online.

The service has been second to none and the new app is much better. Got my £150 within 30 days. Looking forward to my £50 in six months time.

I understand not everyone has had such a good experience!

I just applied for the visa card. Spend £100 on it and they credit your account with £25. FREE MONEY
1750 deposit every month is killing the deal for people looking for free money.
it has one of the highest monthly payment requirements on the high street... and the reader that they use (they also supply bankin to M&S) is an annoying faff)... nationwide's is simpler and better, if you're nominating someone within your family, and you have to the choice of the free current account or the paid one which offers a load of 'free' insurances... good deal if you're coming to the end of mobile/travel/roadside cover...

£200 - 275 is about what there is to have on several high street banks for swapping... but there's only so many you can swap too before you run out as they all have proviso's stating something like 'no rewards if you've previously been with us since 'the league of gentlemen' attempted to rob us back in 1958' or somesuch... (you may need to check the specfics of that last claim.
Terrible BANK. Closed my account 3 years ago, 2 months after I had £75 charges added to it.

Now that’s messed up my credit score, when I appealed HSBC said the charges are there by request of the customer.

No one from HSBC can even tell me what the charges are for.

Can't be bothered to keep changing. If they cut the regular saver then I will. Thats why i left TSB cut the rate from 5% to 3% and the amount you could earn it on from £2000 to £1500. While launching new customer only offers
Can you do this if you already have a first direct account? Not looking to swap that one but swap my santander account, but as I have a first direct account I wasn't sure if it would effect it?

i am with tsb and thinking of leaving cause there interest rates are crap, unfortunately putting in more than a thousand a month is too much for me (^^)

In theory that 3 years ago might mean you qualify for this new customer offer :)...but in practice if they have you down as a bad credit risk they probably won't give you another account anyway
I can certainly deposit £1750 each month but am not currently earning that amount so would likely be rejected. What's the minimum income you think would allow someone to open up this amount? Maybe £1750 x 12? About £21,000 maybe

You dont need to be earning 1750 a month.

You can pay in 1750 (or however much you need to make it to 1750 from your wage) from savings, then immediatly transfer it back and do the same thing every month.

Edit: Or just get your wage paid into this account, transfer it to another account, then transfer it back to this account - to be honest the whole deposit x amount into the account to get the money is just stupid and easily exploited.

Nice find op
I think you only have to pay in required amount to have Advanced account for a few months. I have had Advanced account for at least 3 years. My monthly wage drops below required amount for at least three months a year. But I have not received warning or anything else and continue to be Advance account holder.

I have done this on the CC 4 months ago. Still not received the £25. Will be phoning up again next week to see where it is....

Their service has been terrible but at least I have got 2x £25 payments due to their errors and poor service. Once I have the £25 credit I will be cancelling the CC and never getting another HSBC product even if it is free money. They are far too much hassle to deal with for it to be worth it.

1. Write to them and ask them to explain what the charges are for.
2. They have to reply to you.
3. If they don’t reply to you or you’re are not happy with their explanation, complain to the ombudsman.

I switched for the £200 plus regular saver. It's not my main account, I would not want to switch my main account but if you like to switch for the bonuses then it is handy to have a spare account ready.

I don't think there is a minimum amount per transaction so long as the total paid in per month is £1750 or more. You could do 7 X £250, should only take a few minutes with faster payments or setup multiple standing orders.
Nice find

i quit tsb because the interest rates and monthly perks only last 12 months and they don't restart the clock if you set up a new current account... so eff'em!

you don't have to earn 1750 per month but, in filling in he application, it's preferable to imply hat you earn more than enough to cover that amount, just to cover your ass!

in my experience it's possibly based on what figures you may have put in before (but maybe not) and i've no idea how else they check, beyond the obvious credit check sources.

i would normally suggest sorting out standing orders to transfer cash between banks but i get worried about cascading issues with non payments so do it all live, as it were... takes a couple of hours a month but gets it sorted.

good luck!

I have a First Direct account. It doesn't mention it in the small print but technically it's part of HSBC

Yes I transferred into a HSBC bank whilst also having a First Direct bank and got paid the £150 bonus last week. I rang up prior and lady on phone confirmed it is OK too.

I might be overly cautious, but could it be an issue/problem is state an income that is above the actual real figure? I don't want to elevate my real income on an application to get £200 only for the tax man to come back at me for it!

Struggling to believe this! You incurred £75 of charges and have no idea what for?? Did you not check your statement at the time which breaks down what any charges are for? And you’re telling me that you settled with the supposed response you got? Why? £75 sounds very much like the maximum monthly charge for being overdrawn.
The post is about a deal, not your account charges but FYI - if you paid off the charge and balance, and assuming no other random charges from banks recently, your credit score will be OK to apply three years on. If your balance was written off, yes don’t bother as your history will be on record.
More importantly... have some heat op, nice find
