Total real cost = £240+£164 so £404 but with their tariff and unlimited net before potential and not guaranteed £20 QuidCo

Locked to T-Mobile I assume, prepaymania/play.com have this for £440 sim free unlocked.

Nice to see.

Topcashback is £35 for t mobile at the moment.

I have recently bought £10 contract ( additionally paid £60 for HTC touch2) and TCB tracked at £40.00.

Plus £6.95 postage, but still a very good price

Been looking at their tariffs this morning, I pay £20 for 100 min/txt + web on 18 months at the moment. So I can get this handset for £95 and same tariff for 18 month. Sounds OK to me, was a little surprised when I first looked and it said £35 a month.

£35 cashback at topcashback topcashback.co.uk/tmo…le/ .

Edit: might just be £20 actually

Is it safe to assume this is going to be the best deal for the next few months on this phone? I'm currently on Orange and my contract is up for renewal now, I feel like I've waited long enough for a new phone, but Orange and Vodaphone are announcing the prices for this handset in April, so is it worth the wait?

Handtec will refund the difference if you ask

the porter;8172013

no your right its £35 even better

Yeah it does seem to imply that it's £35 - it says that sim only contracts are £20, so as I read it, this should get £35, but will be expecting £20 if I order it, and any more is a bonus

the tmobile and orange merger is happening on 1st april afaik
t mobile gives 3 gb data allowance which means every now and then u can enjoy few hours of watching you tube videos on 3G without getting charged, whereas orange offers a meagre 500 MB and have charged me in the past over £50 for exceeding the limit..
my point is... is this a right time securing a good deal with tmobile before the merger happens!

garbage456;8173128

its not in stock at t mobile yet

100% correct. I rang customer services, they will be in Friday, ring them to register interest and they will phone you back Friday to place an order or wait till Friday and ring them and you may or may not get 1 of the first batch.

Thanks Guys, check this out!
Called new sales line..0800 956 2208
Spoke to a real nice bloke called Chris
Explained i m interested in the phone and that i m an existing customer..
Informed if i buy on line i get 35 quid back..
Here is what i got.
One off price dropped to £120 !
8gb card to be thrown in (i think its supplied alongwith anyway, but if not they would send me one)
A pouch later on when the acessories are available..
I think if u really dont care about minutes and want to enjoy the android experience..this is as good as it gets..at least for the time..
Hope this helps someone.
The phone would be delivered around 1st April
(PS: I think you can get this as a new customer too dropping the one off price and explaining about the cashback from websites)

I'd buy this right now, been looking for a phone for ages if it wasn't on T-Mobile =( I'm pretty sure there signal sucks and i know a few people at work have had problems with T-mobile signal where the other networks are pretty good.

Hoping Orange perhaps come out with deals that are as good as this! Still also considered being a huge texter about touch screen texting!!

These deals are looking like fantastic value for money.
It's worth noting for some of the 18 month contracts, they end up working out exactly the same price as their 24 month counter part (some actually cheaper), so you basically get those last 6 months for free.

For example:
Desire with 100 minutes / texts @ £15 p/m on a 18 month contract works out at £270 plus £164 upfront for the handset brings us to a total of £434.

Whereas:
Desire with 100 minutes / texts @ £10 p/m on a 24 month contract works out at £240 and the handset cost is the same, bringing us to a cheaper £404, so you're being PAID £30 to keep the SIM an extra 6 months.

Personally, I'm going from a contract with no bundled data to this, and really have no clue as to how many minutes I'll need when I take this into account, for anybody in the same situation as me I advise going for the £15 / 24 month deal (again, 300 minutes / texts) that way if you find you don't need so many you should be able to downgrade your tariff (although I've not double checked this) after 12 months and thanks to the slightly reduce handset cost you only pay £25 for the 12 months where you have 300 minutes, also you may get more cashback going this route.

Alternatively, if you needed more minutes you could upgrade your tariff at any point, as the tariff up from this one doesn't have a reduced handset cost, you'd not lost out doing this. This would mean you could be far more flexible with your tariff.

Anyway, apologies for the wall of text I've just been looking through these the past hour and thought I'd share my two cents.

Edit: Just checked quidco, apparently the cashback from them is the same for £10 and £15 contracts.

Desire's a great phone but don't forget the HTC Supersonic is around the corner. Will be the ultimate Android phone for a long time so might be worth holding out for that. (It's HTC HD2 specs but Android!..)

Be different and get an iPhone 3GS.

I got £20 off the handset price just by asking the telesales lady if there was any discount available. Plus she told me new customers are getting priority over existing for the first batch of handsets, and I should get mine delivered on Saturday. We'll see what happens.

When comparing the cost of this plan you are taking into consideration the 100 min/mnth + Internet

where as, although cheaper to buy out right it doesnt include internet etc.. so keep those in mind !

how does this compare to the mobilephonesdirect offers on here recently?

this is a fair deal but already preordered mine £35 @ 18 month 600 min unlim internet and text not bad at all, good find tho

This is incorrect about Orange being only 500Mb and charging for exceeding this. It may have been so in the past - most of the networks used to have a solid limit where if you exceeded it you'd pay as you use - usually a hefty rate (£1 or more per Mb).

The current limit is unlimited but subject to a fair use policy - that means if you regularly go over a gig for a few months in a row they may ask you to upgrade to a higher data plan (and even then if it's causing problems with bandwidth etc). It is in fact difficult to exceed this limit - I have an iPhone and I'm a heavy data user, watching Youtube videos, browsing the internet, uploading lots of photos to flickr etc - and the highest I've used so far is about 400Mb. If you've got Wifi at home you'll use even less as the Android (and other) devices will use an available Wifi connection in preference to 3G.

You'll find that post-merger, TMob will stop quoting set limits and will start to use words such as unlimited/fair use - in the long run a network is more sustainable and reliable if a soft limit is applied. TMob's network seems to handle large amounts of data easier - T-Orange will still continue to quote fair use but you'll find the soft limits will raise.

Another advantage of the Orange/TMob mobile is that in a few months (may be sooner) Orange customers will be able to roam onto TMob and vice versa until the networks are combined - giving all customers probably the best network coverage.

Don't forget that the unlimited text booster basically chages this package to £10 a month for free texts, unlimited data, and 100 mins. You can't even get a sim only plan for that cheap, with a better than half price phone thrown in.

And if you only want an 18 month contract just get a new contract at the 18month point, as it is only costing you £10 a month.

Don't understand, I had an email from T-Mobile otday saying they now have them in and are offering it free on a £35 a month contract. Why would you pay for the phone??

Bear in mind that this handset is coming to most other networks in the next month or so - unless you really have to have it now, it seems sensible to wait until there's a bit more competition out there.

As that is on a 24 month contract and not everyone wants to be tied in for that long.

Well I've gone for it. Couldn't get the man on the phone to recognise TCB so I've done it the old fashioned way: online! My plan was to buy a Hero for £200 and then go onto O2 PAYG at £10 a month, so this actually works out slightly better value. I feel the awkwardness of the 24 month contract is offset by the fact that it's cheap and pretty flexible.

Pay monthly plans which include internet on your phone on an Android … Pay monthly plans which include internet on your phone on an Android phoneYou'll need internet coverage, check it at t-mobile.co.uk/streetcheck. Remember that you can only use your internet on your phone Booster in the UK and you can't use your phone as a modem or use web'n'walk Plus for peer to peer file sharing, or making internet phone calls. *Internet on your phone comes with a fair use policy of 3GB a month. We'll monitor how much you send and receive each calendar month so that we can protect our network for all our internet on your customers. If you use more than your fair use policy amount, we won't charge you any more, but we may restrict how you can use your plan, depending on how often you go over your amount and by how much. As your phone is always connected to the internet, if you remove your internet on your phone Plus Booster from your account you'll automatically be charged up to £1 every day. That £1 a day rate has its own fair use policy and other legal stuff, which you can see here: t-mobile.co.uk/services/uk/fairuse/#fup5.

Well I called the number and was informed that I would need to speak to customer service/upgrades and they couldn't do anything and they couldn't pre-order the phone either. Also upgrades dept can't do pre-orders on the phone so would need to call back on Friday.

The website tells me I do qualify for an upgrade but I suspect that is wrong. Maybe will try calling Friday.

i just enquired about the internet bit and now being told tat 1gb is through resellers and 3gb t mobile directly

Because it will cost you twice as much! Ok if your going to use the extra mins/texts then it not too bad.

Basically T-Mobile must be making next to nothing on the deal, they must be hoping you go over your mins/text to make some cash. But if you play the game and use skype over wi-fi, use the free unlimited landlines option and use IM services rather than texts this is a fab deal!

Right, I'm interested in this handset with t-mobile, 18 month contract, 300 mins, but it comes with £95 charge for handset, unlike MPD direct which is only £5.99. I have been out of contract with t-mobile for 2 years now. Do you think it is worth haggling and going through to retentions to try and get the handset free or at least cheaper than advertised. I would much rather get the phone direct with t-mobile

I have read a few peeps got 20 or £30 pounds off the handset.
