Pretty tempting. I'm thinking it's time to ditch WinMo and go Android.

Just watch out for the Gadget Helpline Support. You get it free for a month but if you don't cancel they will charge you £17.94 every six months.

This is really easy to cancel, can be done online from their website

Not a bad deal at all. The Desire is the best phone on the market at the moment IMO. I've had it for three weeks and i'm still astounded by it.

+1

best phone ever

I really want a Desire but I'm torn between getting in Vodafone or Orange. Orange seems slightly better value but I am concerned because I am sure I read on here that Orange puts a lot of crappy software on the Desire which it's not easy to get rid of, is this true?

I just cancelled my 02 contract for my old iPhone 3G because I found the network crap - even with a 5-bar 3G signal the network was so congested you sometimes couldn't even make a phone call, which I suspect is a legacy of a) not a very good 3G network in the first place and b) them having exclusivity on the iPhone for so long and selling them all with unlimited internet.

So I'm VERY keen NOT to lock myself for another 18/24 months with another crappy 3G network - any suggestions on who is best to go for from that point of view?

Are any other networks like T-Mobile or 3 any good? I assume 3's 3G network is good but I've heard their customer service is horrible...

Oh, and when Orange say "unlimited" what do they mean? Some say unlimited but then say if you go over 500Mb you're contravening the fair usage policy which seems identical to a 500Mb limit to me!

T-mobile offer the most internet i think its 3GB on Android phones.

I did check the link and it has been working all day up until now. It seems Dialaphone have ended this offer and replaced it with 'not so good' offers from Vodafone

Glad I ordered one yesterday, after reading the above comments it seems like it is a really good bit of kit

Vodafone just offered me this:

£20 Month 300Mins Ultd Texts Ultd Net 24 Months Free Handset.

Not bad eh!

Are you an existing or new customer? Either way, was it over the phone?

But Voda have no stock of the Desire at the minute, apparently they have struggled for the last 8 weeks (in other words since the launch).

Is this usefull info to any one
