question! my mate has an iphone with some kind of word game that she plays with her mates over 3g or what ever! is there word games on android that you can play with iphone users?

the game might be called 'words' or 'words with friends'

Words with friends? If so then yes just checked the app market and it's there said for Android and iPhone etc.

Good price. Voted hot.

Posted already, ages ago... You can get it for £230 if you get pay and go upgrade but it's phones 4 u instore only...

Just ring up your local store and they'll tell you the price...

Not seeing why this is hot?

The previous deal of the desire for £229 + £10 top up is still active in P4U.

My local one said they would do it 249.99 without the £10 top up if paying by card.

Im on Virgin so i cant get the £229.99 PAYG upgrade

Find a mate who uses another network on Pay Go, and take them with you next time they need a top up. (_;)

Heat added, in previous posts people have stated this phone comes unlocked, for those who are unsure

Good deal

Yes runs fine on my Desire, can play with iPhone and Android users.

so is that what will make you decide whether to buy this brilliant phone or not? what if after a week another game comes on iphone your mate plays but you can't, have you made the wrong decision then?!

Just seen that on their site.....will this be unlocked?

Edit: Probably not...

"It probably will be unlocked but for some reason T-Mobiles one isn't." (re HTC desires being unlocked from phone-4-u)

Has anyone experienced the reboot problems this phone has or has it been fixed?

Bought the £229.99 HTC Desire with £10 T-Mobile topup as well. Will report back if it's unlocked with the GiffGaff SIM I have lying around. If not, no big deal, I wanted to use the T-Mobile "SIM Only 10" plan with Internet booster anyway, which I've bought separately.

Picked one up today using an Orange sim of my Mum's. So far that SIM has got me two San Francisco's for £79.99 and now a HTC Desire for cheaper. It is unlocked and unbranded. Put a 3 sim in and it works fine. Put the Giffgaff sim and that works too. Hope this helps.

Reporting back: Phone arrived today; doesn't appear to have any branding as far as I can tell, only found one instance of "T-Mobile" deep in the mobile network settings whilst using a T-Mobile SIM.

HTC Desire arrived without SIM card inserted (phones4u say they put SIM cards inserted ready beforehand for you). T-mobile SIM was in the box, attached to the credit-card sized card, so it was unused basically.

Tried GiffGaff SIM and showed up as GiffGaff on the Desire. Didn't have any credit to test more, but the £229.99 HTC Desire appears to be unlocked as far as I can tell. Hope this helps.

How does that work?

I would advise anyone thinking of buying a phone from phones 4 u to stay clear by miles from this website.
This is actually a con business run by some thugs who also own policy admin service uk.
If you buy from them they automatically add you for a free insurance which, as they say is free for 3 months and after that they start charging your credit/debit card.
And yes ticking ‘No’ at checkout don’t stop them always.
They rely on the fact that most people don’t check their statements and small changes go unnoticed.
Their customer service centre is appalling and they would frustrate you to a point that you will regret purchasing with them.
