I currently have a Nokia 5800 Express Music on a 18 month contract which I got with 3 about 10 months ago - there was a error with 3's online store with gave lots of monthly discount which was posted on hot uk deals months ago and was very popular.

Seen the HTC Desire and asked 3 how much it would cost to buy - I barted over a day or two with the same customer service rep who was great - managed to get HTC Desire brand new for £275 - had to extend my contract by extra 6 months to a total of 15 months contract - which I pay £13 per month for 200 minutes unlimited texts, unlimted 3 to 3 calls & 1GB of internet allowance

So total cost of contract over 15 months = £470

I know it's alot upfront by cheaper that way sometimes!

Was this instore or over the phone?

I wish Vodafone would do this. I want a iPhone 4, but have 12 months of a 24 month contract left. :-(

Ring them and see, because o2 are doing this for the iPhone 4.

Bear in mind though, will you really want the new iPhone for 3 whole years (they add another 24 months) ?

I tired this the other day with 3 after seeing the o2 deal, but the best price they could give me was £385!

I'm also on a cheap monthly tarriff due to online glitch.

Was it the indian or uk call centre that offered this? Any tips to acheive this price?

Anyone tried this yet?

I'll take that as a no then :whistling:

Ok - I'll give it another go! Cheers

Might be able to get it cheaper once they announce their iPhone contracts.

I have been offered the HTC desire (I am currently out of contract) for a one off payment of £180 and an extension to my existing contract for another 18 months.

I keep my same loyalty discount so am on £5pm with VTT 500 (300 mins, 150 text, 25 video minutes, 25MMS, £5 inclusive downloads) .

I was also paying an additional £5pm for x series sliver (1gb limit) data package but was offered to move to the Unlimited Internet package (2gb limit) for the same price. Is there an advantage to staying on X series silver ?

So i get to keep my £10 for VTT 500 and a data package, but for a one off cost of £180 for the HTC desire.

Is this a good deal or should I have got the handset cheaper! The current minutes allowance and texts is what i use.
