HTC Desire...

We all know about this phone. With possible Quidco brings it down to 379.20 plus shipping.
According to our Account Rep they will receive the first shipment on 24th March but can change as it is a new product.

Be gentle, my first post.

Not sure why this is going cold, its a good price and looks like they will be getting stock before any of the other sim free suppliers.

I have one on order from HandTec but if I didn't I would get this one

why are people voting cold and not even saying why they vote cold. Where else can you get this phone cheaper without being tied into a 24 month contract...??

Why would you not want to be tied to a 24 month contract when is costs you basically nothing? You only have to put up 40% of the cash now you get 100 min unlimited texts or landlines and unlimited internet.

Well, contract after contract, if you wanna move you have the hassle of cancelling it, further more having been with t-mobile for several years, they network especially 3G sucks. I can also use my Works SIM card which costs me nothing at all. Unlocked so I can use overseas sim cards when roaming and so on.

Because these are sim free and don't come with loads of guff put on by the operators, upgrades should also be quicker. Also the current deals are with T-Mobile who I am not a big fan of and they are merging with Orange who I am even less of a fan of.

Well that suits your needs for an unlocked phone and you get free use of a work sim. But for most it's not a good deal as yes in some areas the data coverage isn't fantastic but your not paying any more so not as big a loss and your getting text and calls too. As for contracts you dont have to cancel it if you want to take another one out on a different network.

Yes I agree with you about the junk the network put on but is it worth the hundreds of pounds saving, well that's only a choice you can make.

As for networks none seem to be great to be fair. Been on all networks at some point or another on personal or work and none have made me think wow I'll stay with them. After all network coverage is my main priority. Take my bro for instance where he lives there is only coverage for orange and 3 and as wanted an iphone orange it was.

Not used them recently as they aren't as competitive on price as they used to be. Can't remember ever having to use the customer services before so can't comment on that. Have a look on Google for some reviews.

Which takes about 2 minutes.
I think I’d rather save money and have a free 24 month contract and live with the hassle of that 2 minute phone call in 23 months time.

I have just brought this, lets see when it arrives!

was saying 20 expected 24/03/2010, just looked and that's now changed to 31/03/2010. I wonder if they mean 20 more on the 31st ot the 'original' 20 they were expecting today, wouldn't suprice me it was the later rather than the former and the date being pushed back again into april.

I was tempted to order this, but it'll be little over £400 with standard delivery and no guarantee that quidco will pay out. even if quidco does pay out, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't 4% of £395.95 £380.16 not £379.20.

looking at getting it from mobilephonesdirect as they have it for ~£382(after including delivery) on vodafone payg(but from what I understand it's unlocked and unbranded), saving the hassle of quidco.

I've just had a look there and they also seem to have it on T-Mobile for £348.99 plus delivery(?)
