Haven't voted either way as probably a good price for this phone but haven't checked.

As for the phone itself, I was going to get one of these as i've always had keyboarded phones in the past such as the HTC Vario and the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, as i've never got on with texting quick on standard phones and on screen keyboards were always too small. I even found the iphone keyboard too small for my liking.

But there was a delay rolling this out so took the risk on a Desire HD. The HD has a 4.3 inch screen and when tilted sideways has a very good and large onscreen keyboard that is spot on.

So i'd go for the HD with the better camera and faster processor as the Desire Z keyboard really isn't needed on a diplay this big.

Just my opinion, hope it helps

399 @ play
I think the possible £10 rise on the 4th would be absorbed by the retailers to maintain price points.
399 is nicer than 409

I'd agree with this - had a Desire since launch and don't miss the keyboard at all - its only really needed if the screen was smaller than it is...

I send A LOT of emails via my phone (we are talking 50+ per day) and right now I have the Hero since launch and although it's useable I really miss the proper keys. I love HTC and the android OS and I don't want a blackberry so this is the best option for me.

It ain't all that cheap. Play.com is £399.99. And a few pennies cheaper from overseas sites but (although kinda evil) you can trust amazon in case of any problems.

Last time I posted a deal that went cold they deleted it so I expect them to delete this soon but I do want to know what people think. I'm terrible at impulsive and I haven't strayed from wanting this phone for 2 months now.

It's a good price if you don't want a contract.

If I can get a contract for this price or similar I'm interested but most contracts are going well over £400

looks good, I have the Hero which is amazing for apps etc, but still find I reach for my old nokia communicator with it's keyboard if i need to send a quick email, this looks like the best of both worlds if you have stubby fingers like me.

I have one and its going back. The hinge is designed loose and because of this its being sent back. I can't see this phone lasting my 18 month contract

wow fifty a day is equivalent to one email every 15 mins if you are working 12 hours a day. that is quiet a bit though. But have you looked at SWYPE???? it may be better than hard keys.......since i started using swype i am so much so relieved about sending a text or email. how did people managed before swype....i wonder.

I have read quite a few reviews that have said that the hinges are a bit dodgy, but they overlook this as everything else about the phone is great. Good price, but far too expensive for my teenage daughter .... Santa just hasn't got the funds

I may of over exaggerated. But we are talking short emails. Yesterday I sent 34 emails according to my log and I wasn't working. I use it all day tho, like it's always on + the tweets and facebook crap we all also do. My fat thumbs are busy

Yes but you're getting your line rental and minutes in that price too. You get none of that with this.

There's very little in it.

£361 from Expansys when using the voucher code "smartphone5". Only valid until 24th December though.
