Blimey how much lower can this price get oO

****, bought it at full price, last week, might get one and stick it on eBay.

This phone any good?

Have an HD2 and am looking for something a little newer. Seems a little bigger than my HD2 though which isn't ideal. Hoped it would fit in same noreve case I have. Was thinking this might be a nice fill in until I can see what the iPhone 5 (if it ever comes out this year) is like. Would love to get a W7 but I need either iOS or Android for the Sonos app amongst others.

gets cheaper and cheaper good phone I have one. Like most good stop gap phone too waiting for the padfone myself

this phone is fab, better than BlackBerry and iPhone put together, like a mini tablet really, quite chunky, and otterbox case for £5 from Play.com too!

Do you have a link for the £5 case, cant find it on the play site.

Really like this phone, just a little concerned coming from a galaxy s that the screen is supposed to be a bit washed out in comparison. Anyone owned both and can see much difference?

Tried going to my local Carphone warehouse but they are rubbish and don't have any evo's on display.

Got an HTC Desire (standard version, not S) and it is absolutely fine...

Just so tempted to get a better phone, although I need to know what is the best "upgrade" from my Desire, under £249.99?

This looks great, but is it worth it?

Advice please peeps?!

Cheers!

i bought this last week at £250 this is scorching now, i must say it is a great phone, i bought because i wated big screen with a fast procesor and it was the cheapest i could get, the 3D is just a bonus!!

Awesome!

I have the S version, I would wait if I were you, at least a year, not worth it atm, very little improvement.

Does anyone have an opinion on how this compares to the original sensation?

I have considered this phone, and followed the other thread. BUT its the battery life I am worried about.. anyone comment on how long it will last with general basic use (no wifi, gps running etc)

Hot deal, heat added. Very, very tempted!

Internal phone storage: 1 GB is very poor but apart from that its an ok phone

I want.... but my card doesn't seem to work......#annoyed

Good phone, great price !!

And sim free !! Cool, top it off with a GiffGaff sim card and save a fortune

Yes, But its standard that this phone needs a micro sd imo

If you're interested in this phone, you'd be a fool not to buy it at this price.

Comes with a 8GB Class 6 card in it (which I promptly replaced with a 32GB card).
I'm very happy with mine, battery life isn't the greatest (especially when recording in 3D), but there are fairly cheap higher capacity ones on ebay.

good phone but heavy 170g

This is

jopilar

- More RAM (1 GB instead of 768 MB)
- Better battery (1730 instead of 1520)
- 3D
- Little bit heavier, and 1 mm thicker, but fine: 12.3 mm like the newest Nokia phones, I consider this slim enough
- 2x 5MP camera (for 3D) instead of 1x8MP, so makes just 5MP pictures in 2D

It is a better deal IMHO, and about a hundred quid cheaper...
My opinion: you will need the bigger battery, even with this, the battery life is not the best, but a little bit better than with the Sensation.

How about with a optimised custom ROM? does that improve things on the battery front?

For those who want to root and and put a custom rom on
recommend LeeDrOiD 3D V5.2.
Better Battery life, faster, tweaks and better camera software

You can install the amazing Camera software with out rooting

Do any of these Android phones have a seemless and instant forwarding of email from multiple accounts like the Blackberry?

people who bought last week for £250 last week from ASDA kicking them self?

i posted loads of posts in the other thread but i will put all the ones i mentioned here for your convenience

ROOT

credit to user "puj" who helped me with this guide easiest by far

After a lot of reading I got s-off and so now can install any roms that I want to.

A quick guide:

1. Follow this guide from point 4 as our CID is already as required. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1316578
2. Use this tool to s-off and install clockwork mod. http://revolutionary.io/
3. Then roms can be installed via clockwork mod and/or the stock rom can be rooted. see this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14693680

Enjoy!

ROM

Any can be used based on personal preferences. use a few see which ones you like. use them for a few days to get a real feel for them

Note sense 3.5 roms don’t work well with 3d games apps and other apps too. Romes can be found here;

nice kernel thread here on which kernel is best

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465952

personally I and use and recommend leedroid with kamma or unity kernel I use unity

Battery life

I use Leedroid with unity kernel iam getting great battery 6% for about 7 hours screen off I got 40 hours off a full charge 1hour of music 20-30 minutes gaming a few calls and texts WiFi on most of the time with 3g on and 30 min of browsing and sync on exchange server and 2 other mail accounts every 30 min sync weather too and sync other services. Screen brightness set as lowest.

amaze cam app

the amaze cam app apk can be found here if you want you don't need to be rooted or any modification on your phone download the apk make sure you can download 3rad party apps on your application in setting menu. then browse to the file through a file manager and install the apk

the camera mod can be found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302943

pretty good would recommend an install gives you scene recognition with sweep panoramic shot. Larger resolution 3d pictures with light modification so you can have constant on, auto or off. Just to name a few features.

What a fantastic phone have some heat.

Good deal, but it's only 10% less than other places (£250) so not really scorching.

Hot deal I've just got a blue Nokia lumia and may have to ditch it for this

Had this phone a week now (I bought it at £250 ) and I have to say im impressed. The phone runs nice and smooth with a few glitches happening here and there but with the ics update coming soon I'm hoping they will stop. The battery life is okay, I can get a full day with moderate use aswell 3G, WIFI and GPS on constant as I don't like to keep turning them on and off. The 3D affect is amazing and if you get the right video ( IMAX Ocean Wonderland 3D 1080p) it will blow you away not just with depth but with things that actually come out the the screen a good 2-3 cm. Im loving the screen, the colours are brilliant and althought not as good as the s2's they are more natural (apart from blacks). As for the size of the phone itself I like that it's big and heavy, fits nicely in most pockets and I feel that ive got my money's worth. Don't hesitate to buy this phone, the specs are the same as any top handset on the market and the double the price!
