Almost looks like a misprice to me. Hot!
Great price - cheaper than the Expansys deal

Have some heat

Cant believe Asda is selling a high end phone, these just keep getting cheaper and cheaper.
good price for a 3d phone..
After reading some information, there are two versions of this phone, with different processors. One uses MSM8660, 4G able and 4GB ROM/1GB RAM. This version seems to use a MSM8260 processor (3G able) and only 1GB ROM/1GB RAM (compared for example with the 16GB of the Samsung Galaxy II)

It won't be ROM, just internal memory.
Not bad but i went for the recent dialaphone deal on the same phone. The other option is the NEXUS S from carphone warehouse for £200 which I had a for a couple of weeks. The fact that you can have ICS on the Nexus is a big plus, even though it was only a single core phone it still ran as good as this for all the usual stuff. I'm not into benchmarks etc.

The reason I went for the EVO 3D is the slightly bigger screen and at the price it was too much of a bargain to pass up. The 3D is pretty good but eats up the battery so quick I hardly use it. There are lots of 3D videos on Youtube with the wow factor but taking pictures in 3D is a bit pointless IMO.

the 4G version will be for the US market with LTE? Qualcomm's number is a bit odd, the 2nd digit is the radio type AIUI... so 8260 is same CPU as 8660 but different radio baseband support?

I imagine the different in ROM will actually be whether there's a microSD card supplied or not.

US version that supports their networks, you won't find it for sale in Europe. 16GB MicroSD cards are only £10 these days.
Does anyone know how good it is compared to Nokia N8? as i have one on order for £199 its too late for me to cancel but said i can return to store once it arrives, so not sure if i want this instead and if it would be better?

A lot better, I wouldn't wish the Symbian OS upon anyone.

Evo is miles better.. Unless your primary concern is camera quality.
hot deal , is this better than an optimus 2x though ?

Yes this is better than the Optimus 2x.

You would be better off comparing this to the LG Optimus 3d.
Any Quidco?

This phone not outdated already?
Looking to spend 2-300 quid on a replacement for my Desire as the internal memory problem is bursting my skull. I love the phone apart from that so I assume this the best replacement in my price range unless someone can point me to something better?

Well camera quailty was one reason i wanted nokia n8 , but just wondering if the camera Quailty on the htc would be just as good?
is the 3d on this really good, and taking out the 3d aspect is this an improvement on a sgs2.

This is probably the best quality camera (N8) on a phone in the current market. The flash is xenon as opposed to led in the HTC so at night will produce alot better images. But the HTC is the best overall.

No, the camera won't be as good. In EVERY other way the HTC will be better. I almost smashed my Nokia N8 several times when I had it because I was so frustrated with the thing. They have updated the operating system since then but it still has very few apps. I have a Samsung galaxy S2 now so and wouldn't go back if you paid me.

surely not as good, but I'll not buy n8 even if it comes with SLR specs..
This or the Xperia Play? I play games but mainly i browse the web on my lunch break, I've got an Iphone 3gs at the moment and it's getting sluggish!
No point comparing it too the Samsung galaxy s2, they are not even in the same league!
S2 is the nuts. Also at least another 100 quid.
Not just ASDA direct, some stores will stock. Other half works at a small ex Neto ASDA and they had a couple delivered yesterday for stock.

Is your desire rooted and running a custom rom? if not, you could easily get a few months of extra fun out of it with them! I've just upgraded my desire to a sensation xe, and as amazing as the Sensation is (it is amazing.. ) its not that much of a step up. I was torn between this and the S-XE and chose the latter due to developer support and it looks a tad nicer IMO. Cheers. Paul

With a rooted ROM I'd keep your desire until the Galaxy S3 / HTC Edge (or whatever they call it) come out in Feb-March (If you're not really interested in the 3D in this deal). Not only will the S2 and Sensations be cheaper by then but you could possibly get an S3 or Edge and have a top of the range phone!

I'm using the Ice Cream Sandwhich 0.3.4 Rom on my Desire (With Go Launcher & ICS Theme) and its very good. Only I don't use the camera, I think the camera is still pretty buggy. A2SD gives me enough room for all my games and SatNav with about 50Mb spare.

Hot Deal BTW.

Are you sure the S3 is due out that soon? I would've thought they would want to cash in on the S2 HD first.

Correction US only doh!

Had to go for one at that price, just need to sell my OSF (OLED version) now to make some money back.
